  • Magilton: Nerves are holding us back

QPR boss Jim Magilton admits nerves are getting the better of his team after they failed to break their home win duck against Peterborough.

Im getting frustrated with the fact he is always turning a blind eye to the fact that we haven't got a decent striker who can hit the back of the net ( I haven't seen enough of Simpson although i was impressed and Pellicori who i fear will be nothing more than an average player for us

He should apologise to the fans for tinkering with the team and not buying a striker in the summer and then waiting the whole month until deadline day to make a bid/approach for Hooper and of course his baffling tactics and substitutions

He really is frustrating and I fear for him because I dont think he will last very long (although i'd like to see him given a chance)

Get quality football players.... top players don't have nerves, they play football especially the good ones.

it's a shame that everyone knows it's his fault except him, HE didn't bring in a striker, HE keeps changing the team and HE is making some mind-boggling substitutions, but FLAVIO sold Blackstock and didn't leave Magilton with much firepower so he is partly to blame aswell :tired:

but if i remember rightly wasn't Magilton supposed to be in complete control.....so should have insisted on a replacement striker........not loans given to him and told to play

if magilton was in complete control he would have got a replacement striker, but this whole wait until 2 hours to go business for hooper makes me think that we are being conned by the board, and they are trying to do it on the cheap, all i know is, something isn't right behind the scene

by the time the board have finished wasting money on long contracts...paying off managers...paying for loan players then it aint going to be so cheap......should have done it right in the first place.

Players should not be nervous, they should be proud and up to the challenge. It does worry me, this "nervous" aspect. We do have the quality, but can they handle the pressure. So far, it has to be a resounding NO.

they have all been playing long enough to not be nervous.......supposed to be playing the game they love...so should be easy to relax and just play the game....not hard to work out if you give 100% the fans will back you 100%......

I think the negative atmosphere around the club has resulted in this where the players are scared to lose and the football just isn't happening!

Good point. Nerves should be no excuse, it's not like they were playing in a champions league final on saturday, or even a premiership match. We weren't noisy but I think our fans were also quite patient with the team on saturday, i really don't think nerves has anything to do with it. It's more likely to be the chopping and changing and the fact that they players haven't really clicked yet.

Im not sure the players enjoy his style of play, he wants to play quick passing football one touch stuff players are not good enough for that,we need a bit of composure on the pitch ,a game plan, im telling ya he thinks we're arsenal!!
