  • £2million bid for Taylor

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is a January target for QPR manager Harry Redknapp, who wants the 27-year-old on loan for the second half of the season.

    so says the Mirror http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...taylor-2934792

    Good back up if true.

I guess you can never have too many quality defenders in the side, he would be competing with Hill, Dunne, The Chief and Onyewu for playing time, we'll be well covered there!

Is Onyewu signed until the end of the season? If there is any truth then this is HR thinking ahead

I think Onyewu only signed on a 3 month deal similar to Chevanton's. I'm guessing if there is any truth in this Steven Taylor rumour that Onyewu would be on his way in January.

If it happens I think it means Onuoha and Taylor will be our central backs as Hill and Dunne are getting older. In fact this could the plan for next season If we go up.

I think Onuoha and Taylor sounds pretty solid as a Centre Back pairing. That said if Dunne is fit I have him playing, for me he has been immense this season!

That's what I thought but I don't think a player has much say.

I don't know a lot about the club but isn't he there captain?

Would be a top partnership with Onuha in my opinion.

Maybe but there is no loyalty for football players. In fact why should there be loyalty? It's a job for them. Everybody swich jobs for better salaries and other privileges. Only fans are loyal.

Apparently he's not getting a game up there and hasn't played for a month despite now being fit.

and looks like he is down the pecking order.

It is more likely cover for Simpson or as LB if Spurs recall BAE. Hill and Dunne may be getting older but at the moment they are the best centre back pairing in the league by a mile. Unless they get injured they will be okay for the season and 14 clean sheets or so out of 20 says it all. I don't see how from being linked to Taylor you then jump to him and Onuha will be our centre back pair for the rest of the season. Would be suicide to drop both Hill and Dunne.
