  • The ultimate mercenary?

This coming transfer window will decide on weather Julio Cesar will be crowned as our all time "ultimate mercenary"

with a place in brazil's world cup 11 up for grabs which is also being hosted in his home country, along with the possibility of seeing out the last few years of his carrer at a premiership club who are chasing a european spot, will this man jump ship or will he be satisfied with picking up the 90k per week and rotting in the u18s.

the time for answers is fast approaching.

You're effectively asking him to give up several million quid just so he can (possibly) play in a few football matches next June.

Yes, its a huge opportunity, but maybe he's thinking: I'd rather my kids inherited that money, thanks.

Would you give up loads of money for a vanity trip like this?

I take it you've got your 'Hogan Ephraim is a lazy b-steward, he turned down the chance to leave in the past 4859734t749587 transfer windows' all typed out. Finger just hovering over that post button?

      Don't really get the difference.

        good question geng.

my answer would be yes, if i have made multi millions over the past 10 years and am financally secure then yes i would make the jump.

With millions of pounds already in the bank and probably 4 years left in football i would want to finish at the top and preforming in my own country for my country in the biggest tournament in the world whilst still being paid £40k- 45k per week.

I'd like to think my answer would be the same, but I'm not going to pretend I know how I'd act in that situation or hate on him for his choices.

Imagine if it was the other way round, and Cesar was being asked to pay ~£5m to play in the World Cup. If he said 'yeah ok I'll do it', everyone would say the world's gone mad, filthy rich, more money than sense, think what he could have done with that money, starving kids in Africa etc etc etc. No difference financially though.

In fairness to Cesar why would you leave 90k at QPR who might be heading up, for less in a premier peague relegation battle at Sunderland for less money?

He will see out his contract with us rather than go on loan to Sunderland who are going down. His contract expires in 2016. If we go up, he may play again?

maybe no one did put a bid in and he was just happy to stay. it was the club thought he was gone so they played green but he always said he wanted to play. why is it that those who really wanted to leave left and those who want to stay are playing week in week out. yet we are calling this guy a mercenary

                            I'm with Geng.
He left inter because they wanted to reduce his salary, so QPR were alerted to the fact he was motivated by money, it was money that brought him here.
Now it's all gone pear shaped, the club can't blame him for not moving to another club on a lower salary.
