Great result at the weekend, during a busy and very tough festive period.

I honestly believe (Mainly hoping..) that it will be the smaller details that will make the difference. Of course what matters is the eleven players on the field doing the job each week, but..

    1. The run in
    2. The squad sizes
    3. The teams we play away from home

Now clearly our squad size is probably the biggest in the league and therefore that should help us around this time of the season and towards the end. (Probably the difference against Blackpool)

In our favor we will have Leeds, Reading, Burnley, Wigan, Bolton, Forest, Watford, Blackpool and Huddersfield all to play at home. I picked out these teams as they are probably the toughest places to travel to for points.

Our last 3 games - No easy games, but having the last two at home and going away to Barnsley may well be important for us. Massive 9 points.

    Watford Home
    Millwall Home
    Barnsley Away

For me - The above could be the difference.

A great first half of the season, if we can beat Leicester and pick up another two points on our travels then we will have done very very well.

You might mean 'our squad depth is probably the strongest in the league'

No - what I said still makes perfect sense.

Our squad SIZE e.g. the amount of players we have is going to help us.

You could also say it the way you did above, however Im happy with my initial comment.

      Great input.....

Yeah I think the bench looks strong but the number of players is not big. 20 have left and 10 arrived since the summer so there are probably still some spaces in the squad. Not counting the Hughes siginigs on loan of course plus theres some players unlikely to ever feature much like Cesar still making up the numbers. The only thing to look out for in the current squad is fatigue, just players getting tired which can happen later on around Easter time, but probably some of the young reserves on loan like Hitchcock will be used as cover.

One funny thing - that turnover of about 30 players in the summer, that dwarfs anything Hughes or just about any club has ever done, and it has brought success. It makes a joke of all the pundits waffling on about 'making too many changes' being a problem. If you got an experienced manager that knows good players from bad you can make big changes work.
