[QUOTE=cross it Dave;1183740]How about a stadium that changes size as required, like BC Place in Canada.

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kZlyiIe...%3DkZlyiIefMHY[/QUO

good call Dave...there are ways a stadium can be expanded/retracted without actually having to that much work.build the stadium in two tiers,say15-20 on each tier..then section/curtain off the top tier when needed
you can also make sure the seats have plenty of width/then when expansion is required, move seats closer together to get more seats in(this was the thinking behind Wembleys seats having so much room in between,it was estimated that by moving the seats closer together on the bottom tier, and increase of 8k could be reached
Brighton is another good example of how extra seats can be easily introduced
The other alternative is what some NFL stadiums do(Dallas Cowboys)have one end with relatively few rows with an empty space behind(a glass screen could be placed behind this)and when needed, temp seats are erected when needed(this was done at the Superbowl)the level of the roof is the same all the way round

Lets have another go shall we - IF YOUR BELOVED REPORT 'PREDICTS' OUR SUPPORT GROWING TO 29k WHY WOULD WE NEED A 40k STADIUM ? ? ?

For the record, AGAIN ! I have no problem with any new stadium being multi purpose, I had no problem with Barry McGuigan fighting @ LR, didn't have a problem with celebrity five a sides & EVEN THOUGH I'M AGNOSTIC I did blink an eye @ Billy Graham brain washing feeble minded nutters in W12 !

BUT I fail to see how my matchday experience is going to be enhanced by rattling around a half empty stadium !

Maybe you could spend today trawling t'internet to find a report to convince me I will ..........
I wish you'd bothered to read my post on this arguing the case for 40k. I won't bother to repeat it lest Vblock and W12 have a go for bringing it up again.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

          We aren't called the gang of 4 for nothing Nick ;-}

PS give us an idea what thread it is on please Richard.
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

So this beloved report of yours ... Has it been written for QPR or is there any reference to QPR?

So its wrong and futile to be concerned that the club we love is going to change beyond all recognition at the whim of rich foreign businessmen ?

Think somewhere between 30-35 with a bit of "growth potential" would be great.

I'm hoping that all the doubter's fears are listened to seriously by the board as they are just as valid as many of the "pro" arguments and that they can alleviate certain worries by thorough and logical explanations. Absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of forceful debate on both sides as that will in time, produce the best outcome. The one thing I want more than anything else is that some fans don't simply make themselves a real pain in the backside like some have done so far, simply because they can't handle a bit of change and progress. By far the best way to ensure that this move becomes a roaring success story would be for everyone to be positive and support the owners in their quest to deliver upon their promises. Not by agreeing to everything for the sake of harmony, but by not disagreeing with everything because of personal dislikes.

This is something that we can all embrace and achieve the best results together.
That's always been our problem out support has hardly fluctuated through the years.

I'd be astounded if we could pull 30k a week in 5 years time let alone 40k.

I've always thought a move would be to costly for us and the best option would be a ground share with Fulham. It has never crossed my mind that we could become a big club because we are a small club. To fill a 40k seat stadium you'd have 16k QPR supporters and 20k premier league fans, that is not my idea of what I want for the future of QPR.

You know what they say about Arsenals support since they moved from Highbury....there are 40k Arsenal supported and 20k Arsene Wenger fans filling the Emirates.

Agreed ,weve only got about 16,000 match going fans ,and the rest would be hangers on ,but a ground share with fulham ???? i`d sooner cut off my **** then groundshare with them , i`m already concerned about us losing our identity as it is.

                            Very fair comments.

A few years ago, a ground share with Fulham would have met with nowhere near the animosity it would now. And in fairness why, when things are looking up for us and not at all good for them, should we bail them out?

Convinced we are on the up now. It will take time to grow the support, but grow it can. The best way is if we ensure that QPR is a great place to go. It won't help if we make new attendees feel unwelcome, because they are new or some other intolerant reason.

I'm all for supporting and helping the board to make the right decisions, whilst at the same time ensuring that they don't overstep the mark.

Groundshare. Would people rather ground share with Fulham or would they rather groundshare with bands, boxers etc. ?
