  • phillips celebrating his goal

anyone else agree with him doing this? i do. if you score a goal you celebrate end of no matter who its against. theres nowhere to draw the line. soon rio ferdinand will score against us and refuse to celebrate because he had a trial when he was young.

really dont agree with the non celebrating stuff
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

Agree with you . He's every right to celebrate scoring what was a really important goal . For all we know he might not have enjoyed his time at pool , I know there are some of my ex employers that I'd celebrate wildly in front of if I got one over on them . It's just a job at the end of the day

Bobby Moore never celebrated when he scored. No matter who it was against.

        yes and no

If a player spends a long time with a club builds up a rapport with supporters then it is a mark of respect not to go over the top and I appreciate it

With Philips there was a good chunk of the blackpool crowd that used to regularly give him stick, we wasnt a solid fans favourite and they called him a money grabbing ****** when he left, in such circumstances I wouldnt expect anything but the full monty

I think that if the player celebrates with his team mates and the QPR fans in a normal way ,but claps the old supporters after the game that would be the best scenario. Its a bit condescending when they dont celebrate

He has the right to celebrate. But, If I was Blackpool fan I would be disappointed. Gorkss scored against us last season and didn't celebrate.

At the end of the day we all have to accept it.

I think you can celebrate against an old club. Some players have played for 10 different club, soon you find that you can hardly celebrate. But i don't think players should celebrate scoring against the team you support. Had i not received that bad injury of drinking beers for many years!! and i made it as a footballer, there would be no way i could celebrate scoring against the R's. Saying that, don't think i could play against QPR

Am I right in thinking he was only there a couple of years??
Its not like it was David Beckham scoring against utd, where he had played for ten years.

All the talk of Phillips having no respect for celebrating. How about the respect they gave him by booing....
                    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

He wasn't a fans favourite and was getting booed, so understandable he celebrated. I'd probably feel disappointed if someone like Mackie came back and celebrated though.

Don't see why personally. The player has moved on and is now playing for another club. He has moved on and so should the fans. To not celebrate could equally be seen as disrespectful to the fans of his new club.

                          The whole thing's b0ll0cks IMO.

I remember when Nigel Quashie gave it the large one to SAR one year after scoring for Pompey. Got ruined outside after.

Glad Philips celebrated he is a QPR player now we pay his wages. Last season when SWP scored against Chelsea, as much as I was happy we had got our 2nd win of the season I was annoyed he didn't celebrate, I mean off the top of my head I cant remember too much else he has done since being here.
