Rightly so I questioned his performance as the Chairman over the previous two seasons in the Premier league and rightly so. I also don't swallow everything he says on twitter like some supporters and some don't like it when others speak out . You only have to read posts from the past few days questioning the mooted 40,000 capacity stadium as ill thought out.

I wonder how many times this will be debated over the next 5 years.

5 games during my visit during October and November. I am planning to come during February-March which could be 5-6 more.

So you would actually want your team to LOSE a certain amount of games per year to ensure promotion would never happen, even if we found ourselves in a play-off final for example you'd actually be cheering on the opposition.

That is the only rational conclusion anyone would reach from reading all your posts. Perhaps you need to amend your avatar.
No you are wrong completely... i do not have a problem with supporting a team that is in league 1, league 2 or the Championship/Premiership. I dont want to gamble our future and change our fanbase just so we can compete with the "big guns" as you call it. Not bothered about the prem as it is an noncompetitive league and not as good a league as the Championship imo. Not bothered about watching the likes of Rooney and Wiltshere playing at our ground. Love rangers and dont want rangers to change as i think it will change for the worse and i think we are in the hands of a board that have higher priorities with this ground change than the club.

According to QPR Report, last season's average attendance was 17,779. In year one our average gate would be 25,086. In year two, it increases by 44.9%. I don't know if this is based on the original attendance or the new attendance. The figures are either 25,761 or 36,349. However, the graph shows the real increases come in year four and beyond.

The report quoted says that Southampton and Huddersfield increased attendances by over 80%. For us that would mean average attendance rising to at least 32,002.

The increase of the 21 clubs with new grounds shows an average gate increase of 60%. This would bring ours up to 28,446.

                    These are the scenarios:

                    1. In two years, new stadium factor would put our average attendance up to 25,761

                    2. In four years, based on the experiences of 21 clubs with new stadiums, our attendance would average 28,446.

                    3. If our experience replicated that of Southampton and Huddersfield, our average attendance would reach at least 32,002. Obviously not doable in a 30k stadium.

If you average those three scenarios, within four years of the new stadium opening, our average attendance would be 28,736, close to capacity in a 30k stadium. It doesn't leave much scope for developing the fan base.

If demand for tickets increased because of the redevelopment of OOC, pretty soon we'd be calling in the builders to expand the stadium which would likely cause the closure of certain parts of the ground while the work was being carried out.

I think too many people are basing their opinions on what we are experiencing at present, and not the potential for the club's growth. We're planning a new stadium as part of a new multi-billion pound development in a catchment area of 1.8m people, not some out of town stadium in a provincial town.

All it would take is just 1% of that catchment area to come to the new stadium and a 2k increase in away attendance bringing it up to 5k, and added with our current average you've got almost a 40k full house.
Thanks for posting that Richard. Any decision based on studies is surely welcome. If That is the basis, then Tony is right.

To be honest if I was happy to spend the rest of my life supporting rangers in the championship or lower divisions then I'd agree with you and be more than happy to stay at LR and just continue to be another football club that doesn't really achieve anything, but I don't.

I would love to see us up there playing against the biggest names in the world, playing in Europe, playing for the premiership title, to have a mini town that revolved around us.

Why? A lot of fans see us as the next Chelsea where there is in fact a good chance we will be the new Fulham with a ground full of tourist/neutrals or MKDons that has had to manufacture a whole fanbase. No thanks..

I really can see a divide forming amongst our support who are realistic and sensible and those who make daft statements like this.

And what is so daft and not realistic about seeing rangers with this type of future??

With the owner, money, manger and squad we have/building if we don't achieve this in years to come I would be massively disappointed and I would say anyone who is happy to be hanging around the championship/bottom of the premiership is the daft one and very unrealistic.

let me ask you, if we was to stay at LR where do you see us in 10 years?

I was the large bald bloke who introduced himself to ya on the way out of the stand ......... Was in a mad rush cause my driver wanted to get out quickly.
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."
