Why shouldn't he be fit? You think his substitution today wasn't tactical?

Of course it wasn't tactical. Duh. He's reported to have an illness. Who tactically substitutes a left sided CB for a right sided CB at half time when the fella doing the business has been, as ever, as solid as a rock.

Disagree - he had plenty to do. And it's nothing to do with the age differences for me either. When Clint plays a forward pass it tends to be a percentage ball i.e. he'll hit it either into space or in the general direction of one of our forwards. Whereas Nedum generally plays it to feet. And when he did carry the ball it always ended up at a team-mates feet. Other times he shepherded it out to safety using his strength and pace with an opponent on his back.

its no coincidence that when Ned was on we pushed furthr up, got closer to them and got a grip of the game

think Ned was playing for the first 4 or 5 when we had the run of clean sheets. Think he's our best defender classy, pacey, glad to see him back! I think Clint maybe sitting a few games out when the chief is fully fit

This generally would be the four times he's played CB for us, would it??

I'm pleased to hear that was the reason, as it would explain why his performance wasn't quite up to his usual high standards.

At the risk of sounding like the equivalent of a Park fanboy, what was wrong with his performance today?? He made the best clearance of the game, shackled the forward as ever, won everything in the air and was as commanding as ever.. He even shepherded the odd ball out of play...

He was unwell and it showed in his overall play and sharpness that's all. I repeat this is in no way a dig-out Clint thread but given the choice I just prefer Nedum at CB, and as ever it's all about opinions.

                            Absolutely.

4 even if you include Onyewu who's not even had a look-in yet.

The chief has to be one of our best players so we have to protect him. Love clint to death but he will never be as good as nedum, not at his age.
