Even one day if we manage to fill a 40k stadium we could be playing in a half filled stadium for years. Still all those tunts moaning about leg room at LR will get ample haha
Guess we'll have to wait and see, i still reckon if successful we will need nearer the 40k rather than 25k. Not saying they will be supporters like us but the new fan as many other clubs now have.

        • Interview with Phil Beard up on Player now in which he confirms the new stadium WILL be owned by the club and its shareholders.

He also said that ticketing, events, conferences, corporate hospitality, merchandise, corporate partners etc will all create much needed revenues which will be re-invested back into the club in order to compete with the other clubs in the PL.

Confirmed too that the club are committed to consult with the fans over the whole process.

              • It was pretty clear from Ian Taylor's questions that he's been keeping a close eye on the fan messageboards all day, going to show issues raised on them are monitored and addressed.

                  • I'm sure they will revise their plans now and make it just a 25,000 seater.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

He was also asked how he thought we would fill a 40k stadium and gave some quite interesting answers.

"Build it and they will come"
"How the **** should I know?"

You're getting in quite a lot of funnies lately Kirill, what has cheered you up, has the wife left ya ?
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

...amongst other things eg the 25,000 new homes.

"I wonder what the well-informed guys at WATRB are saying about the new stadium, it's bound to be full of well-reasoned arguments about the pros and cons, that we can use to inform us about how to progress"

                              • The future worries me, that looks like Karl Conolly tacking the corner!

It all seems very exciting but I think we need a bit of perspective, anyone could have knocked up that artists impression of the site and stadium using photoshop and illustrator, it bears no resemblance to anything as concrete as a figments of someones imagination

I don't want to be a killjoy but I will eat my hat if we are in a new stadium in that location by 2018/2019 and even if we did it would be in the middle of what would be a massive building site for at least 10 years after that. Lets see how things progress and how meaningful any discourse with supporters over the design of a new stadium will be and how transparent they will be over the financials and ownership of the stadium as far as the football club is concerned. in the words of Harvey K in Pulp fiction lets not start sucking each others winkies just yet
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks
