"Said Leslie ferdinand say leslie ferdinand."
Then the press heard it wrong, well terry cinzano i mean, and changed it to sir, then everyone started singing it as sir. And that is undisputable.

You mean to say, he's not an actual 'Sir'? Even his book title says he is.

Everyone round me however still sung Say Leslie.

First time it was sung was at home to Millwall in 89 can't remember the lads names that started it in the Lower loft , the week after it took off more at palace away on Wilkins debut then the week after
Les got 2 v scum we won 4-2 and it was really popular , at that stage was def Said Leslie Ferdinand ,

By the time les really made the first team spot his own was 92-93 first year of the prem and we finished top London club it seemed more people were singing sir les
