  • sir Leslie song

Correct me if im wrong but didn't the press say that Les was known down loftus road as "Sir" Les because it certainly wasn't the fans as the song went " I "SAID" Leslie Ferdinand i "SAID Leslie Ferdinand, and it just got misinterpreted cos it sounds like "SIR"

I'm pretty sure Shanns is right. I always sang "I said Leslie Ferdinand" anyway.

Lots of fans must have been singing it wrong then...it was Sir Les, might have been 'Say Leslie Ferdinand' when he first come back from Turkey but by 92/93 it had developed into Sir Les

Also the whole Sir Les thing came from as far as I'm aware due to fact that he was such a gent and it some how caught on

              No it wasn't

Tony Incenzo heard it wrong, but the nickname stuck as it was quite good.

The song didn't change, at least not where I was sat.

I thought it was say, but then again i thought the lyrics were "Better days inside" to that song with "Betty davis eyes" so what the fook do i know.
"I could think of a number of what I think would be interesting (and not even "gotcha") questions. But they wont be asked"

it was definitely "Say" not "Sir" that's how the song would start usually after he'd banged one in and if I remember rightly it also involved alot of surging around!! Saaaaaaay Les-lie Feeerdi-nand Saaaaaaaaaay Les-lie Feeerdi-nand...

Always thought it was "say" thats what I sang for years, then people named him Sir Les and claimed that was the song...

I think it was copied from Sheffield united when they used to sing "ooh ahhh bob booker"

Who copied it from that pop song.

Deepcut's right. Incenzo misheard the song and reported it in the press as Sir Leslie.
Everyone round me however still sung Say Leslie.
