Manager Harry Redknapp wants to sign Yossi Benayoun but the QPR board are currently reluctant to sanction the deal.

Well done to the board I say.

W12Ranger and Vblock 2 decent outspoken posters have slated our board for allowing Hughes free rein to sign a load of shi te.

Harry Redknapp comes under a similar mentality to Hughes, both poor managers they are renound for throwing money for overrated/overpaid players.

Harry is liked on this board but I would like to know why. Apparently because he has been in the game for donkeys years, which I tend to think is the main problem. The bloke would also have signed Wayne Bridge a bloke who is poor and is sitting there at reading on good money and also been injured for the last 3 months with no sign coming back soon. We really need to stop reading into the media bulls hit, because they all wanted Harry to be england manager, not for his ability to win game but to add some personality to the press box. I am just thankful that the owners are now stepping up to a very poor manager and stop him from buying these has beens that want 1 big last pay day just like Joe Cole and all the other wasters that want to take advantage of a simple past it manager!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I would have not problem him signing until the end of the season or pay as you play but 18months at his age he can jog on

With a very high number of mangers getting sacked and leaving clubs lately the last thing we need is HR to get the hump with not getting his own way and walk out on us. So I'm thinking maybe Tuesday we should show our support for our manager and sing that song that was posted on another thread.
Now don't get me wrong, I agree with the board. But if HR was to leave I think we would be well and truly in the $hit.

A bit of HR love would go a long way....

He wont leave as he only works in the south and the only job up for grabs is Fulham which he wont risk his rep on by dropping two seasons in a row

He also knows he's on a good thing at QPR with owners who in the main are supportive if he puts the right players in front of them as demonstrated by the signings of Austin and Phillips

Well i see posts on here saying we need more creativity and this fella is creative isn't he?....seems strange that the board sanctioned the Dunne, Chevanton, and Karl Henry signings but don't want to do this one because of age. I think we're trying to get his money demands lowered more than anything to do with age, which is fair enough, i agree with the board

my take on this is his wage demands, think with the hefty fine reported to be hanging over our heads seems to be the right decision
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Greed. Reckon been offered deal till end is season but wants 18 month deal. Rather have a couple of youth on the bench then him tbh as all about the future if they don't get chances now won't have no chance IF we go up

Good. They were right about Bridge and are right here too. Goon on em for having some sense and not giving in to Harry.

By now, surely our scouts must have found us a midfielder or two, regardless of our interest in Benayoun.....

Thats better, normal service is resumed. We are trying to get him on a six month deal, not a stupid 18 month contract where he gets paid for doing nothing for over a year. Thank god for kevin bond, this is deffo his doing , hes the one in charge.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp looks to push through a deal for Yossi Benayoun until the end of the season.

In this case the interest of the club comes first. If he gets the deal he is asked for and promotion is not achieved, he just carry on with his life enjoying his money, while the club will be in great trouble. The last time we were relegated to Div 1 and administration, it all started after relegation from the Premier. In our first season in the CC we spend a lot of money in trying to get back as quickly as possible. We missed by a point to make the play off's and from then on it was a struggle. Well done to the board for being cautious.
