In his weekly column in The Independent, Neil Warnock recalls his signing of Clint Hill for Crystal Palace from Stoke City in 2007 and his unsuccessful efforts to take him to Leeds United while manager at Elland Road:

I met Clint the summer we signed him at the pre-season game at Tavistock, he struck me as such a normal bloke, combine that with his very consistent on field performances and i'm huge admirer of the man.

100% agreed, Shaun Derry also changed the whole club. Warnock, Derry & Hill were outstanding guys to bring to QPR
