As previously mentioned, the sticking point with the other clubs is more likely the length of contract he wants at his age, rather than just the salary. We have him contracted until the end of 2016, so unless someone is offering at least a 3-year contract on decent money it's not worth him moving (depending on his motivation).

Besides, it's all guess-work at this point isn't it?

That would mean he's on £100k pw. And since when did footballers pay the same tax rates as the rest of us? Scams, off shore investments, image rights etc etc.

Top Premiership footballers like Wayne Rooney and Gareth Barry are avoiding millions of pounds in tax through a loophole which means they can pay basic rate tax
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Matty's right. There's no way he's paying 45 percent plus NI on his earnings. No way. And that's a national scandal when the likes of us pay 51 percent (including NI) on every penny we earn over £32K PER F ACKING YEAR!!!!!! And can you imagine the property scams the likes of Cesar gets up to...????

If we weren't paying him silly money, he'd be playing somewhere else by now.
