He's a "Go run around a bit lad" arm around the shoulder type, which is fair enough but you need a bit more than that in big games.

Football fans are fickle. If we win promotion I'll be please but mostly relieved. I still don't think the current state of the club behind the scenes is anything to get excited about. Its not just what happens on the pitch after all.
I don't see why so many worry about off the pitch stuff. We haven't been told we're about to go under and no one knows the state of our club finances except the board. We have unloaded most of our big earners and
alot of those on loan are out of contract next summer too. I actually think Tony would not want to risk his reputation by failing and then walking away from us, and i do think he knows what he's doing in business, but has admitted he trusted people he should not have

If QPR are hit with a fine, penalised etc, I expect the usual excuses to be wheeled out "But what about Chelsea/Man City?", "It was Mark Hughes fault". Its all utterly idiotic.

I'm expecting the usual rhetoric of "Well Fernandes can't be clueless because he is a successful business man". So what? And so what if he is a nice bloke - which incidentally I think he is - we are paying for Fernandes naivety. Park Ji-Sung represents everything that has been wrong with the Fernandes reign. Some of our signings and wages paid is tantamount to misappropriation of club fund, quite simply if there is any fine to be paid it should be directly from Fernandes pocket. If a huge fine was levied against the club and Fernandes decided to abandon ship, I wonder whether the adulation he is afforded would still be quite so forthcoming.

I think all in all this is a pretty depressing time to a QPR fan. The novelty of a wealthy owner chasing the dream and buying in big names has worn a little thin now. We're a small club and we've embarrassed ourselves and hardly ingratiated ourselves to other clubs in the Championship who are frankly cheesed off with us.

So please. No more Fernandes love. Some of us are bored of it.
      Feel better now?

        I personally trust TF

Ok he made the mistake of trusting a no good manager ( MH ) with a lot of money.
BUT he has also replaced him with one of the best managers in English football who is slowly building a very good squad. He is also looking at investing in a new ground and training facilities. And probably most importantly he is trying to turn what was a bit if a mess football club into a decent one but also into a business.
        SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

I can't help feel its a little too easy to be forgiving of Tony's misdemeanour's regardless of the advisor's he surrounded himself with. The Park Ji-Sung transfer we all his own doing and he must cringe when he thinks back to publicly lauding him as if he'd just signed someone of note rather than what he was, a commercial excursion into South Korea.

Whilst it might be endearing to some having a chairman on Twitter acting like one of the fans, to me its a little embarrassing to see Tony back himself into a corner, as he did with Mark Hughes. Last season was a catastrophic error of judgement for all concerned at the club. Summed up by Djibril Cisse telling Redknapp to "F**k off".

I think Cisse telling HR to f-off says more about him than TF or Harry. Not sure how that is Tony's fault. The twitter thing ....well don't forget he was on that long before he came to QPR, but i think you can see he has taken a step away from it, mainly because of the abuse he has received on there.
Thought you might like to see a post on the Stoke forum .....I can only assume they have got this information from something Hughes has said.....

All we have to reduce the risk in half is to get promoted, then get rid of wage eaters: Cesar, Remy etc etc

I'm not blaming Harry or Tony for Cisse's outburst but his attitude was indicative of the problems at QPR. I do think Fernandes should know better than to discuss club policy on Twitter, nothing wrong with posting "UP THE RSSSSSS" etc, but going on Twitter and backing Hughes made a rod for his own back. However, as you said, he isn't as active now.

Thanks for the link, makes interesting reading and I agree with a lot of what is posted there, I made the point some time ago that many players bought in were simply given to Hughes regardless of wanting them, except it was Park and Cesar not the other way around as alluded to by one poster on the Stoke site.

Richard Hann, music journalist and QPR fan lamented on the Guardian Football weekly podcasts that Fernandes was like a man playing Championship Manager 2009. Its hard to disagree. Whilst we all knew we had to strengthen after promotion and following survival, what transpired seemed less about building and all about buying big names.

What do I want? Surely what every QPR fan wants, a period of consolidation. Selling players on huge wages isn't going to be easy, Wright-Phillips for example, his career is dead and he's cashing in on mediocrity. Firstly we need to start seeing more coming through the youth ranks and improve our scouting network to seek out young talent regardless of where it is. Secondly, realistic transfer targets, Duvan Zapata was never going to sign for QPR, yet Fernandes attempted to sign him despite surely knowing Napoli were going to get him. Technically this falls into my first point but Fernandes needs to take a step back from actively scouting and attempting to sign the wrong players. Thirdly and most importantly, live within our means. I'm sure a new stadium would be nice but how likely is it that we'd fill out an 25,000 seater stadium and can the club afford that debt on top of everything else? I doubt it.

I wanted a period of consolidation, but due to fair play rules it's go up or get fined. So we need to prepare to yo-yo if need be. As far as the stadium goes, well that's been discussed to death on here. It's not like we're building it next week. It's years down the road, and it's going to finance itself due to naming rights and hosting events and what not. Not like it's going to be football only, which in that sense you'd be right we wouldn't be able to afford it at all and it would be a huge burden.

no... it's 'go up and get fined' or 'stay down and have a transfer embargo' (assuming that we make a relatively big operating deficit). first set of fines will be based on losses from this season and fines levied next season - the only ways that we can avoid the fine are: 1) not getting promoted or 2) not making a loss bigger than the threshold.

yo-yo club is probably the worst possible outcome - a fine every time we get promoted would cripple us financially.
