They cannot impose it for the first 2 seasons implemented in order to give teams a fair chance to adapt to the rulings so it doesn't apply to us and the mail are writing absolute ********

Personally I don't believe anything that I read in the Mail.

I'm sure we will be in line for some kind of reprimand, there is no way that last seasons expenditure on wages would have sat well with the new financial fair play rules. At the same time Tony Fernandes is a finance guy and he is no mug, he was fully aware of the FFP rules that were being brought into play and I'm sure he is prepared for whatever the eventual outcome will be.

Oh yeah, I just found some info to back this up.

The first reporting period for the Championship will be for the current season (2011/12), with accounts to be submitted to the Football League on 1 December 2012. Despite this, there will be no sanctions imposed on any clubs who breach the rules during the first two seasons (2012/13 and 2013/14) which allows for transitionary measures to be implemented. However, from the 2014/15 season, robust sanctions will be introduced for any clubs which breach the rules, which will differ depending on whether the club is promoted to the Premier League, remains in the Championship or is relegated to League One.

As Tarbie said, it is lost you may make next year, if we go up and get the 90m then we will be fine.

The other thing is there is no way TF will pay the fine without a fight, as 1) these rules were not in place when QPR got promoted or used money to stay in the Prem, 2) Our debt was due to being in the Prem and a different league under different rules therefore should not apply, 3, also mentioned above we would get some kind of sponsor deal that will fix it.

To fine a club of this value, be prepared to taken to go to court as rich people dont give their money up of this value without a fight.

I read a while back that the lawyer who represented Jean Marc Bosman is taking on the case to stop FFP being implemented. His argument is that it stops owners investing in their clubs in order to equip them to challenge at the top. He argues that FFP allows richer clubs to remain at the top and restricts the development of smaller clubs.

                  In effect, restraint of trade.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

And i agree with him, its been put in so the big clubs can get richer and the smaller clubs cant compete, this even now effects the likes of Liverpool as there is no way they can compete with Man U.

The type of rule they should have brought in is that all debt must be internal and not against the clubs assets (ground)) so the only people who lose this level of money is the owners and no external to the club must exceed of say £10m, the same rules for every club.

If you have rich owners and they want to gamble with there money then go for it, if not then dont.

Big story to get readers on a Sunday, maybe some truth but not to the length they've put it
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

not quite... the rules are set out relatively clearly here on the football league's website. the process for any fines will start based on financial performance during this season (which is the third season), with the fine being levied during 2014/15 season. the fine is not solely based on the reported loss in the accounts, but is adjusted so that expenditure on the eds, community scheme and (probably most importantly for us) bonus payments for achieving promotion is removed. so even if we lost £80m, the adjustments might amount to £10m, which would reduce the fine by the same amount.

the mail is, as ever, exaggerating what might happen. maybe we will report £80m losses for last season, but that's last season. the reality is that transfer outlay this season will be markedly lower than last season (other than austin, most of our purchases were either frees or low value), we received some (admittedly low) income from loan deals, almost all of the samba money back and a number of big-earners are gone with at least a share of the wages being met elsewhere. we won't post losses of £80m for this season.

actually... the real omg in the mail today is here: "There IS interest from the Turkish club, but it is believed the Terry camp are playing it up. And if the player is prepared to accept a new contract at around the £100,000-a-week mark, the club will do business. If not - and Terry doesn’t fancy playing in Turkey - then West Ham and QPR will be in the market, should they be promoted from the Championship."

Little worried, about this. But glad not too many are panicking, including Tony. This table makes for grim reading though.
