For those of us who aren't as senior as Facto - I only saw Stan a few times and was very young - I'm going to go for Tony Currie, never saw someone hit a long range pass with his skill, better than Hoddle imho and never quite made the most of his incredible talents.
.....tc sadly remembered as the man who brought hoddle down for the winning pen in 82 .....but got a worldy against the fools in 1980!
I go Stan, on the basis the question is "greatest" he is to us what Best is to Man utd, Dalglish is to Liverpool and Morris is to Chelsea, players that defined the club.
If someone says SB it = QPR - no other club. He made us, we made him.....perfect. Everything about our club both past and present can be summed up by reference to him.
Sir Les is my personal favourite due to the era thing but he's still strongly linked by the public to Newcastle and Spurs, also he got better over time with us. Sir Les defined a generation, SB defined a football club.
Therefore for what it's worth I go greatest SB.
