Just seen on Sky Sports that Caulker who has already played and scored for England is now being coveted by Scotland due to the fact that he has a Scottish grandmother.....

Caulker was born in Feltham and has represented England at a number of levels but due to the fact that he has not been included in either of the next two squads he's suddenly McCaulker..... What a complete and utter joke this is.... I know that Scotland are only trying to exploit the rules as it were but are they that desperate and shameless.... Similar to Mackie I suppose but at least he has a Scottish sounding name....

Now I know that the England cricket team have raided SA for a number of players so don't bother chucking this one into the equation....

Players are changing their international teams like they would change clubs, it shouldn't be like this. You should play for the country where you were born or grew up in. Just like Costa should have chosen Brazil instead of Spain, and Januzaj should choose Belgium where he was born and raised instead of the other 1000 countries he has links with. Caulker is english, should be playing for us. Why would he want to play for scotland anyway? He's doing well for cardiff and would have probably been called up for england eventually.

As far as I'm concerned, if you choose a particular country to play for, that becomes your nationality.

Like Andy Townsend who is Irish. He chose that nationality and claimed it as his country.

Its 2013 n the world is multicultural now. This is the world we live in and we have to adjust. But do agree that if you pick a country an u21 level, you have to stay with them.

I rekon Caulker has a pretty good chance of breaking into the England team over the next few years. If you look at whats ahead of him in terms of English Cb's he'd be crazy to give up the chance of going to major international finals just to chase caps. I'm sure i read he was training with us as a junior before going to spurs just another one that passed us by
