Our opinion of joey is obviously always going to be tainted by what happened at Man city. The fact is he came back from france and had an immediately positive effect on the team.Loved the ali tribute today and shows he cares about what he does for us. I for 0ne am happy for him to carry on producing like he is for us. Even if we go up and he chooses to go in the summer he should be regarded as being more positive than negatiive for the rs.Not too many players you could say that about!

Shows a total lack of respect to other QPR fans. I disagree vehemently with other fans on loads of stuff on here, but I would never stoop that low.

I shouldn't have thought it, though, so my apologies. A temper tantrum... That's why I like Joey, I guess. Still think your position on Joey is nuts though.
Fair enough.
To clarify, I wouldn't be unhappy to see him stay either, he's working hard, playing well, and keeping his nose clean (under provocation too).

Agreed with many other posts on this thread, i remember arriving at LR on the opening day vs Sheffield Wed and checking the squad on my phone then thinking why the fok is Joey Barton playing?
Has put in fantastic performances week in week out genuinely cares about the club too, legend.

He insulted all of us with his claims that he wouldn't play in the Championship, but to his credit he's swallowed his pride and knuckled down impressively this season. He was spectacularly lucky to get the support he has from the fans, and he's now doing the job he should be for the wages he's paid.
If it were me, Aguero would have received the knee approx 180 degrees from where Barton's made contact.

Originally posted by DeepcutHoop View PostSending off was his own fault. The ref not sending Tevez off was wrong, and obviously Tevez provoked a reaction from Joey and he got one. That does happen to a lot of players admittedly.
His reaction afterwards was a disgrace though, and he got banned for a quarter of the next season because of it. You can try and down play it, but it was a ridiculous and violent loss of temper.
No excuses for it at all.
cos of the press. I agree with brighton that he was affected by the ****less a holes he had to play with and his treatment was tonys one and only culpable fault. I said at the time, jb is popular in the
game, with all other clubs he's played at and their fans. only place he was unpopular was QPR, caused by the press beasting him, says more about QPR fans than joey IMO

I never wanted him when he joined nor called for his return from his exile in Marseille but must accept he's been a revelation since his return. Been committed, full concentration, disciplined and pushes the whole team forward, marvellous.
The fly in the ointment though is he's dropped a division and he was bought for the purpose of keeping us in the prem rather than going down and trying to get us back up. A quality premiership player should in any event be able to shine in this division.
I don't know the answer but his first year with us, his discipline, performance, ball retention etc was poor and the question is was this due to Joey not be able to boss the midfield against premiership teams resulting in him tacklng late, generally losing the ball and getting hassled off the ball resulting in poor performances and ill discipline. The alternative was that the poor performance was due to him joining a circus, with an awful dressing room and a clueless manager.
Whatever the answer, looking forward is positive as if we go up we can build a team round him as he will have evolved with a more stable, professionally run club rather than being parachuted into a mad house when he first joined.Last edited by TBLOCKRANGER; 10-11-2013, 01:47 PM.
