  • Derry leaving QPR - thanks and good luck!

Shaun Derry is reportedly terminating his contract at QPR and could be confirmed as part of the new management team at Notts County.

Good luck to him. Was a fine servant for us.

Only bit I'm not liking is the phrase, "severance package". Would hope that if he no longer wants to be here due to an opportunity elsewhere, he would do the decent thing and shake hands and go.

If it's a mutual termination why would there be a severance package?

Think, on his salary, he's earned a payoff.... Good man. Always an R in my eyes.

He's only contracted with us until January anyway, so it cant be much severance if there is any at all.

He might have to pay us to be allowed to leave and manage someone else before his contract expires.

How does that work then? You are more entitled to a payoff if you haven't been paid as much as someone else?

Has been terrific for us and always gives his all but if he is off elsewhere then there should be no payoff.

don't know how you read it but my interpretation was that if anyone deserved a "nice work son, stick that in yer sky rocket" brown envelope jobbie on their way out of the door it's derry

nothing to do with anything else but recognising what he brought to the table

                  too simplistic maybe
I don't care about morals 'cause the world's insane and we're all to blame anyway

If that's the case fair enough but I suspect it will be mutually terminated.

Good luck Sean! On top of being an excellent servant for the club you looked amazingly like Gary Oldman when you took part in Movember.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:
