Hoilett's had a mare last 2 games but we need to keep the faith and get behind him instead of hounding the sh1t out of him- he'll be one of our key players if we go up this year.

The reason why Harry doesn't play 2 strikers

Hoilett struggled in the middle and could not cope with Wigan defenders. If he had played at his natural position as left winger, we would have created more chances If Matt Phillips had started as well. I don't know why he isn't starting. Actually we did not create chances. We only had possession without any end product. Anyway it wasn't a bad result, but we should now get back to winning ways by beating Derby and Reading before the league break. I also think having Johnson back will add more chance of scoring. He movement is good and can read the game. Let's hope he doesn't get injured again.QPR fan since1987

it isnt so much about how many strikers are in the team, but more about how many players in the team who can score goals and imo Hoilett, O'Neil, Henry and Barton etc are not scoring enough.
many teams play with 2 forwads and usually score quite frequently.
in reply to another poster's comment re: keeping the ball to prevent conceding goals doesnt always work... it didnt stop Burnley and in the under 17s last week Japan had most of the ball but lost to Sweden.

Harry does appear to be contradicting himself - on the one hand he says playing 4-5-1 is his preferred formation and on the other hand he bemoans the fact that Austin has had to play up front alone due to the AJ and Zamora injuries (whilst conveniently never mentioning Chevanton who he signed for that very purpose and yet has barely played him). If he's adamant that playing one striker is the way to go he basically now has 3 senior strikers competing for one position, so why's he complaining?

No need for internet name calling big fella. Im a realist, if someone doesnt play well i say so, or ask if they did if its an away game i didnt attend. Im massively optimistic and am certain we are going up automatic, but im not going to say hoilett is any good when i watch him be shite week in week out, same goes with phillips till saturday.Last edited by Kevin Mcleod; 04-11-2013, 01:03 PM.

Tin hat time but we also played one up front when we tore this division apart scoring the most goals a couple of seasons back. Difference was we had Adel (who apparently is rubbish, over-rated, never contributed much etc). Most people at the time were full of praise not only for Adel but our tactics, pointing out that big lump championship centre halves can't handle it being played between the lines etc. Of course I realise there are attitude issues with Adel but perhaps it is time some of the hate-brigade acknowledged that for all the ability of Hoillet, Phillips, Krancjar, SWP, AJ or whoever else you would play in the Adel role none have been as effective SO FAR as the man himself. Most of them also spend half their time injured - whereas Adel, considering how he was hacked about in the Championship, hardly missed a game. So maybe its not the tactics that aren't working perfectly and a bit more to do with the players.
