some of our performances this season have been boring to watch ... get the ball up the pitch faster we have to many midfielders that take to many touches just to pass back to our defenders . hoilett needs to be on the wing taking on defenders like townesend did last season. i can near enough predict whos going to pass to who every time we have the ball

Hoilett does take on and get passed defenders and then does nothing, every single time. And thats not exaggeration.

I don't really get this whole 2 up front thing? IMO we're playing the best formation we can. 1 extra striker doesnt mean more goals and for the 500th time we don't have the central midfielders or the centre backs to play that way. Barton, Henry, Jenas and Faurlin are probably 4 of the slowest centre mids in the league. Dunne and Hill are almost certainly the two slowest centre backs, we need numbers in there to compensate .

Watching last night I thought we were OK at the back, midfield was strong but we had no conviction in the final 3rd. We were never under any real sustained pressure and could have nicked one towards the end with a bit more quality. The ref was the worst i've seen in a very long time.

One final thing. Fair enough, Hoilett has had a couple of bad games but are we really going to be total pr1cks and get on his back already?? Do we always have to have a boo boy? And singing Chevanton & Andy Johnson (ex Fulham who scored a hat-trick against us) songs when Austin is working his #### off up front is just ridiculous IMO. Why not get behind him a bit more? How demoralising must that be for Austin? We wonder why forwards do well at every club but ours...

I was surprised when Kranjcar was subbed. Was he injured? I didn't notice anything.

From what I've heard, he felt some discomfort & came off, before it got any worse. That would indicate it was more precautionary, rather than a full-blown injury, which hopefully won't keep him out for too long - but obviously, medical examinations & scans may indicate otherwise. I'm sure Harry will have the latest update in tomorrow morning's presser.

Niko was today named in Croatia's squad for the play-off games against Iceland on 15th & 19th November - I'm sure his nation will be hoping he's ready for those games.
