Dont think tactics were wrong saturday but our passing was abysmal, had we retained possession a little better then the whole game would have panned out differently, their goal came from Henry being hustled off the ball when we had possession of it. We put the ball into touch at least 4 or 5 times, something we haven't done all season and you could see Burnley increasing in confidence the more we were giving it away. I don't think Burnley actually played that well I think we were just very poor and gave them the initiative far too easily.

As I mentioned in a previous post. Most of Burnley's threat came when we gave the ball away in stupid areas because of pony passing. Their first goal was because of giving the ball away in our own half and I think the 2nd goal (pen) came from giving the ball away cheaply inside their half, whereby Joey misjudged jumping for a header.

As I mentioned in a previous post. Most of Burnley's threat came when we gave the ball away in stupid areas because of pony passing. You know its a bad performance when you can't actually pick out one player who played well and when you analyse it, how many saves did Greeno have to make, not very many at all, hence why I don't think Burnley actually played that well either.

I just feel with Wigan playing that extra game in Europe & us having the home advantage, we should really go for this one. Hence why I would go for out & out wingers Phillips & Hoilet wiping balls in to AJ & Austin. With Krajcar I wouldn't have him as an attacking midfielder, but as someone who would just sit back and feed the balls out to the wings. I know its very attacking but I just feel this one is for the taking.

do people think that our players playing a possession game are getting too carried away with keeping the ball and are then just starving austin of any real chances? I think we really need to play 2 wingers and have them get at the fullbacks. we shouldn't in my opinion be playing to kranjcar's strengths - sounds crazy but he will not score all of the goals that get us promoted. we should be playing to austin or johnsons.. who both will bury teams if we get the ball in the box and dont always try thread the ball through the middle. I noticed this quite a bit against millwall that we really never got at the fullbacks and was just more interested in keeping the ball infront of the other team.

Thats a good point actually mate...need to be more direct sometimes and we just havent seen that yet.
