Not adel, but chimbonda. On talksport this morning with neil warnock, they had pascal on a phone call. Presenter said you have been with over three hundred clubs what cubs did you have the best time at. He named every single one except Rangers. Presenter laughed and pointed it out, and he still never budged. When he was gone Warnock said, yeah we fell out. On the way to Scunthorpe away all i could hear was him at the front of the coach asking what time we would be getting home. I was furious so when we got to scunthorpe i sent the coach to take him to the station and stick him on a train straight back home. That was that between us after that.

Adel was literally given the freedom of QPR to do as he liked by NW and it has to be said it worked perfectly. But it did make him believe he was bigger than the club and better than his team mates. No other manager will ever let him dominate a team like Neil did.

He gave his all that season we went up and was actually one of our better players in the season we stayed up.
If you put yourself in his shoes, he absolutely destroyed the league, best QPR player for a generation and then you get us up and the club go poor mans galacticos crazy which Redknapp highlighted in his autobiography where average or below average players were earning champions league wages. Adel was God and suddenly he's earns a 1/3 of Bosingwa or Park. AT must just think what's all this about when Bothroyd is earning more than you....just nonsense.
The club didn't manage the situation well and I still think if we were cleverer we could of built a solid team round him but like always we mess up and rumours start going around and people start covering their own backs and he's an easy target.
Don't understand why people still feel the need to defend Adel. He has wasted every ounce of god given talent that he has and people are constantly looking for reasons other than the obvious. Nobody to blame for Adel not realising his potential but Adel himself!

Funny that, because I seem to recall Chimbonda played against Scunthorpe that day......poorly, but I'm fairly sure he started.

Returning to Adel - Can anyone name any of our 'playmaker/No10s' who did better for their subsequent clubs, or even as good as they did for us ?

Marsh - Man City - Nope, he & Big Malcolm Allison were blamed for costing them a title / trophies. Better in America, & briefly with Best & Moore at Fulham.
Bowles - Notts Forest - Fell out with Cloughie pretty soon after joining them. Dropped down the leagues to Orient & Brentford.
Currie - Southend, Torquay, Stockport - Fair to say his best days (Sheff Utd & Leeds) were behind him by the time he left us.
Stainrod - Sheff Wed & poor, better at Aston Villa & briefly at Stoke, then found obscurity in Scotland.
Byrne - Did OK at Le Havre, Brighton, Sunderland & Oxford.
Wegerle - Average at Blackburn & Coventry, then went home to US. Then played some golf !

So Adel may be a dissapointment to some or many, but he's in good company.

i'm certain he played (although i think he came on as a sub)... it was a relatively hot day and he was wearing gloves which annoyed me. and he was absolutely useless.

Selective memory, a football managers trait.
Just like saying he hoped no manager would ever consider employing 'the sewer rat' again in this country.

And our current incumbant suffers from the same.
Hopefully, he'll match Colin's success with us too.

I think it was after the Scunthorpe game. Rangers stayed up north for the game with Barnsley on the tuesday (Adel got the winner first minute) and then Chimbonda was constantly asking when are we going back to London.
He did play v Scunny gloved up if i remember and was poor
