  • Harry - K.Gallen belongs at Rangers...but no return for Sir Les

Harry Redknapp insists it is important for QPR to have former players like Kevin Gallen as part of their coaching set-up.

Gallen, who made more than 400 appearances for Rangers, last week told West London Sport he would be “absolutely delighted” to return after Redknapp told a fans forum he wanted the 38-year-old to work with the club’s youngsters: http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/k...pp-64631-html?

    Great news about KG.
Shame about sir les though. Easily 1 of of the best strikers we've ever had.
but to b fair he's a spurs fan, so his heart will always b there.
    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

so many goals gallen and furs scored are unforgettable to me. both their goals against sheff wed in 03/04, furs goal against sunderland and his winner against wigan, gallens equaliser against leeds, and furlongs winner against luton at home after we came from behind. I always had gallen on the back of my shirt when he rejoined us. definitely in my top 5 favourite qpr players
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

Theyre both Rangers legends and i`d be happy for either of them to still be associated with the club ,to let the youngsters /foreigners know what the club is about and a little bit of our recent history.( Les might be Spurs ,but hes a West London boy and will always be an R to me)

Great team we had then wasn't it mate...despite Thompson. Sadly i took our top flight status for granted, not knowing the hell that was to follow. Les Ferdinand....Rangers legend....

For me these were the golden days at QPR. So many of my hero's donning the R's shirt. I was an extremely privileged child to grow up being on first name terms with pretty much all of those players back then. Days when players actually cared about fans and always had time for supporters.

That night after the game I remember shaking Sir Les' and thanking him because he just won me £126 for a £1 stake at the bookies in the Ellerslie Road stand for having QPR to WIN 2-1 with Les to score the last goal which was on a special. Being the top bloke that he was, he then topped off that great night by walking me down to his then Porsche, where he opened his boot and pulled out a couple of pairs of Nike boots which he signed and gave to me.

My best story was RE Big Macca. Every time he see me he used to rub my hair furiously as he greeted me because he loved the fact I booted Mark Hughes in the shin for refusing to sign programmes for my cousin, a couple of other kids and myself. He really was a top fella always had time for everyone. I doubt you'd ever get pro like that in this day and age. Total different breed of folk nowadays.
