  • Burnley and strikers

Austin got 28 goals for them last season and now Ings has got 11 already this season They get the ball into the box and whoever the striker is they seem to benefit. We don't seem to be playing to Austin's strengths.

    Just saying.

I have my doubts whether we'll ever see a fully fit Hoilett!

Don't worry about Burnley.........we'll just stop their strikers by buying them

That was my point, does it matter who we buy if we don't use them properly?

But it's the truth... how many chances do we create per game?

Funny you should mention this as I was thinking exactly the same over the past week or so.Its as if the forwards,in particular Austin isn't getting to same service as he did at Burnley. As someone mentioned yesterday,we don't seem to have anyone who can cross the ball, and everything is played to the feet and not particularly well at that. But thats probably me showing my old age with everything being so technical these days.Whatever it is that Burnley are doing its working well at the moment.Don't get me wrong,I am delighted we're top of the league,it would just be nice to win by more than 1-0 occasionally, its playing havoc with my nerves and ticker.

Burnley (and others) have systems and a way of playing that creates chances. Doesn't seem to matter who the striker is they benefit. Austin out and Ings in, same results.

Ings would be on the bench

                            That's just it though.

QPR need to get the ball into the box on a frequent basis, whether it's a though ball on the ground, over the defence or a cross into the air, not just hope for a patient build up and a clear cut goalscoring chance (they're not Barcelona).

Austin will miss chances, but given enough of them during the match, he can score a goal every other game, if not more.

I agree, 1-0 wins are not really enjoyable at the time.
