  • Harry's comments - "Yeovil were very unlucky to lose..."

Manager Harry Redknapp said he left Joey Barton out of the starting line-up for QPR’s 1-0 win against Yeovil simply to give him a rest:

“Joey has played the last three games and this was our third game in a week,” said Redknapp. The one area I’m overloaded in is midfield. I’ve got people like Jermaine Jenas and I’ve got Ale Faurlin not getting a game. I just thought I’d change it around today. I left Tom Carroll out in midweek. I just wanted to get fresh legs in. The one area I’ve got cover in is midfield. I don’t have any cover at centre-back or right-back and I’ve only got one striker.”

Rangers, whose win took them three points clear at the top of the Championship, had to absorb significant pressure before emerging with their fifth 1-0 win of the season.

And their clean sheet was their sixth consecutive shut-out.

Redknapp admitted: “It was a struggle. We hung on in there in the end. There are going to be tight games all through this season, especially when you come to places like here where there’s a full house and they’re the underdogs. It’s a great position for them to be in, being the underdogs with nothing to lose. They came out and gave it everything. They were very unlucky to lose.”

QPR manager Harry Redknapp says he left Joey Barton out of his starting line-up against Yeovil simply to give him a rest.

"I'm going to be happy tomorrow because when I watch the video I will see we outplayed a quality team. We can't keep being unlucky and we don't want to be relegated as the unluckiest team ever. We have to start putting our opportunities away, but we're not always going to have Robert Green in goal against us."

We need to keep plugging away and believing in our game. They've been around at this level for a long time, but we can go home happy in the fact that we gave more than we got. The players will be disappointed but we can't forever wrap them in a comfort blanket. We've got to improve in certain areas and we will be relentless in our coaching and our attitude. It's not our football that's letting us down at the moment."

Who's fault is that.? Surely Harry has to take the blame for that?
But his comments about Yeovil didn't deserve to lose we're correct

Yeovil was a good opportunity to play Hitchcock as they are new to this league and in the relegation zone so more chance of him scoring and establish himself in the team in future games.

We are top of the league yet people still moan.. Sometimes I just can't believe these supporters.

                        At least HR was honest!

Agree we're top of the league playing rubbish football so can't be bad. We have the best keeper and centre half in the league which is the main factor. Harry and tony will bring in 2 strikers and we will win what is a very average league.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

One tricky question. Why did Harry talked about Southampton beating Liverpool?

It look like he saw it on a tv in front of him. I thought that was funny. Saying how much he liked them was a bit odd as well after he left them in the lerch
