The problem isnt necessarily a striker at the moment, yes we need another one because if Austin gets injured we're screwed but this is how it is......

HR has done an unbelievable job, you cant turn around the sh1t mess that Hughes left over night. The players Harry has brought in have been superb and he is building from the back. He has created a spine to our team that is absolutely brilliant, we have the best defence in the league by miles, barton is class and Faurlin cant even get a game. We are just missing a bit of a creative spark. At the beginning of the season the only way that we were able to turn defence into attack effectively was to give it to Hoilett, when he picked up his injury Harry had no choice but to play a certain way. Once Phillips and Hoilett both get match fit they will terrorise defences and Austin will get goals.

To say Austin and Sharp would make a superb partnership is dumb, they are similar players and we shouldn't be playing 4-4-2. We should be playing 4-5-1 in preperation for the premiership.

Its hilarious that people on here think Harry has got it wrong! Think about where we were last season and look at where we are now, these things take time, we are only going to get better and we are top of the league, unbeaten. Get a grip, get behind the manager and the players

Lucky? ... So the defence has gone from sieve like to ducks a*se and you come out with "we've been lucky". I think Harry has done an amazing job, after shipping out the amount of players we have and then go unbeaten so far.

Tbh I wouldn't mind briging Jay Bothroyd back. He did fins in the games he played last season.

So it does look as if Harry had all his eggs in one basket,he has trailed Baird( again telling the media so someone else could come in),Reading have signed Baird when we could have done with him now and STILL no striker,he obviously wanted Dafoe, and waited and waited and waited hoping it would come off,NOW he "starts" searching for a striker, and I wish somebody would point out to him that there are more teams in the league apart from spurs. So one striker again for Saturday, again the opposition will park the bus and expect a 0-0 against the worst team in the league, and expect more" ye lot make me want to vomit" type threads afterwards ,and people to start passing around the rose tinted glasses

We don't want Baird. Was given a decent offer and decided to go elsewhere for more cash. Good luck to him, but we've had enough money-grabbing players recently.

And, despite what he's said, I don't think for one minute that Harry genuinely thought Defoe would EVER come here. The media just ask him about every player under the sun and because we are mostly garbage of course he'll say yes to the players names thrown at him.

Not that Harry is devoid of criticism. The willingness to let Johnson go was baffling given how short we were, and then not to get someone else in so far is very odd.

Very good post agree with pretty much all of it. Except playing 4-5-1 all the time. I think we need to mix it up a bit against some sides particularly at home. One up top will work handsomely away from home but against Brighton the other night if HR had options he would have changed it but after Neddum got injured and no AJ or Bobby we had little choice.

It did seem madness letting aj go, but I'm gutted it didn't happen now. It would of been seen as a stroke of genius seeing as he won't kicked a ball since the raspberry

I do wonder if they are intentionally leaving it until next week. I could be wrong on this, but i think if we loan someone now, we lose them before Christmas, whereas waiting another week means we'll have them over that crazy set of games.

Or I could be giving the club too much credit.

Well, you should know the answer to that by next Friday.

Either we will get someone capable of scoring goals or at least being a threat, or we will have yet another 90 minutes of huff and puff, playing too deep and no atmosphere.

Yes. We've just got to nurture them like Jose is going to.
