Harry reveals ‘Taarabt role’ for Kranjcar

“I’ve got the option of Niko playing in behind, the No.10 role,” said Redknapp. “He’s fantastic in there, a little bit like [Rafael] van der Vaart when I played him at Tottenham.

He can play on the left, where he comes inside and drifts into little pockets between the lines, or he can play off the front. He can score and see a pass to play someone in on goal.

[Kranjcar] is a fantastic footballer and I’m pleased to have him. He was looking to come here, this transfer dragged on quite a while. But I don’t want to rush him and he maybe breaks down. He has a muscle, groin-type injury but it’s nothing bad.

He wasn’t playing in Ukraine and he’d made it clear that he wanted to come home to London and play here. They left him out, so he wasn’t playing.

You’ve also got Matt Phillips, who I think is going to be a big player – he’s got pace and ability, all the ingredients – and Junior [Hoilett] has been in good form as well.”

Thought Carroll was brought in to play the 'number 10 role' hence he's the number 10 who started behind the strikers on Saturday. Hmmm bit awkward.

Did we? I was under the impression he was a play maker & had great feet who plays in behind the strikers to thread balls & create. Maybe I misinterpreted what I read then.

Thank christ, only player with a creative brain, O'neil is not the answer
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

What did the three ####s think of us last night mate?
My guess is they will never be going with you again.

TBH mate I am gutted that the game was so poor.
They are good company and I don't think any of them want to come back.

The best thing from our evening was the meal we had at Jamie's.

I could of converted them as they don't go to spurs anymore but unfortunately none were impressed.

Thought both sides were extremely poor in the final 3rd and no creativity, which is pretty honest for all of us to see. Shame.

It's a shame we don't have the versatility with our forwards as we do in the midfield! I suppose if the predictable injuries didn't happen to AJ and BZ Harry would be able to mix things up better

Kranjcar has always worn the number 19 I believe, although I agree that is the role Carroll was brought in to play... Perhaps with kramjcar on the left of him?

This quote made me smile. He's Croatian, Harry!! London is not his home!
Unless you were referring to his spiritual home of White Hart Lane??

When I read it I thought maybe he owns a house here. Now a real Kranjcar fan would know these things... :p

I don't think he bought a place in London, while he was at Spurs. As far as I'm aware, he lived in Cuffley & then in Hadley Wood and, just before he left WHL, was staying in Notting Hill (long story).

Anyway, he's always welcome to crash at my place!
