  • Lets not panic just yet!!

While some are twitching already, and some have the outright nerve to be calling for a managerial change after 7 games (unbelievable) , this is quite common in football, all the games at the start of a season are cagey for one good reason, the importance of a good start, you want as many points as possible. Look at the first half against Birmingham when we where open in the middle of the park and over run, most teams now play with a three up front which really is a five in midfield without the ball. Teams will come to qpr all season and flood the midfield sit back and try and hit us on the break, quite like we have done away from home so far, give it 15 games or so and teams will become more adventurous. Its hugely important to start well, hence these cagey games . I have watched 3 games live so far, and 2 games live on sky, haven't been that impressed with any team yet, but teams will improve, including us.

I agree but we haven't put in a good performance yet and don't really look like scoring. I keep hearing people say we are gonna roll someone over soon and give them a battering but I don't see it and think we will struggle on Saturday.

Are we the first team in history to be unbeaten, top of the league, no goals conceded in 5, yet completely sh*tting ourselves?!

I don't think we are shitting ourselves but we just don't look like finishing teams off and although we came back against Sheff weds. and Huddersfield I think we would struggle to do the same against a stronger team

To be honest every team that comes to HQ are coming not to get beat the last 2 set their stall out that way, Brighton didnt have one shot, we're going to have to put up with trying to break teams down at home, but playing 1 up top isn't going to do it, need a striker in aon loan soon,I'd prefer Crouch to play alongside of Austin

Crouch would be a great partner for Austin and he will get the ball knocked down into the channels where he wants it

Totally agree with that, but as the season progresses teams will have to open up here, and that will help us to, that's how season's works. At the moment there's no need for teams to come and have a go at us, but later on in the season when teams need points the games will change, teams will attack more take more chances, and that will help qpr in the way we play.
I reckon the loan striker is Harry Kane, from Spurs..

No team wins all its games just does not happen ! So an unbeaten start 7 games in with 5 clean sheets is exceptional start by anyones standards and all this without is really getting out of 1st gear ! Cardiff lost 3-0 at home to Peterboro last season but who went up and who got relegated ? Some people need to take a reality check we are in very good hands with H R and co.

Tbf I haven't seen a bad team at Loftus Road this season. Everyone, if toothless up front like Brighton, have been well drilled and organized and hard to breakdown. One of our problems is that when we build from the back we can do so too slowly. We can take an age to get the ball forward and we're as likely to go across the park- or backward- as we are to go forward. This is down to our reluctance to play balls into the box unless the chance is one hundred percent on. But it's also because teams are physically closing us down and defending well against us.... Little more speed and more and better use of the flanks is what's needed. We're a better team with AJ and Holliet Hopefully we'll be a better team with Kransjar. We'll have more creativity about us.

Absolutely agree we missed AJ chasing down the ball

I think a lot of the problem with fans, myself included is high expectations because of the quality within our squad! I haven't been able to watch many of the matches so I rely on match reports, highlights and first hand accounts from you lot who are lucky enough to attend the matches! I think many of the reasons stated in this thread are true for our lack of dominating performances, the injuries may now be throwing the squad out of balance, let's hope Harry can deal with this soon! As the OP says, there's no need to panic just yet, we're top of the league having not played to our potential yet!
