The very thing which Rangers fans love about being a QPR fan certain posters would see removed for so called better facilities and keeping up with the neighbours. You go to a football ground to watch a match not to enjoy the 'experience'. Global branding, multi purpose venues, , bigger fanbase we don't need any of this to survive...certain sorts of fans are using this as a smokescreen for what they really want. These sorts of fans want the Premier League 'experience', they want to brag about our big new ground (which we won't fill), they hide behind saying increased crowds will bring much needed revenue when its really the TV money in the PL which keeps clubs ticking over. Fortunately I don't believe these fans are anywhere close to representing our fan base who are happy at Loftus Road. You supporters who say you want better things for the club and share 'Tonys' ambition for the future just don't get it. Our very survival depends on staying at Loftus Road because once we move away our club will never be the same again. I actually think we have a certain type of supporter who is embarassed at the size of our fanbase and Loftus Road itself...personally I'd rather lose you over our home!

Agreed on the most part. I love LR & would happily stay here forever but in reality to sustain wages of big players should we go back up 18k is nowhere near enough. If a new ground with the right facilities brought in an extra £20-30m a season why would we complain? I don't care for the 'experience' myself I'm a traditionalist but we do need to maximise our revenue. 25k stadium ideal too me.Last edited by Jimmy Floyd Rabbit; 14-09-2013, 10:00 AM.

I've never spoken to any other supporter who is 'obsessed' with a new stadium. And to be totally honest, can't say I've seen anyone post on here who's 'obsessed' with a new stadium. Maybe the ones who are desperate for a move could let it be known in this thread.
I would happily stay at Loftus road till I pop my clogs, but I also won't moan if we move down the road, and the facilities are improved ten fold. So I'm not one of the obsessed, I'm easy either way.

We could make far more through the sale of players which we buy on the cheap.

Why are so many people against making the new stadium "multi purpose"? It doesn't mean a horde of teenage girls will interrupt your match day, it means the club will generate extra revenue when we're not playing. What is the problem here?
To an extent, LR is already multi purpose. We've hosted internationals, we've had rugby, boxing, music concerts etc...

There's nothing wrong at all with wanting our club to be competing at the top, in the Premier League. I would much much rather that than going back to League 1 and just about ticking over financially. And in this day and age, a bigger stadium goes a long way to seeing the club in a more healthy position financially, 18k is just not enough. I think 40k right off the bat is too much myself, maybe 25-30k with room to expand if we need to.
No doubt there are some fans who you've described to a tee there, but there are fans, like me, who want the club to be at the top, who want us to be able to attract large crowds and not go back to barely being able to fill Loftus Road. Does that mean I have to go?Top Scorers 2018/2019

Success comkes through bring youth players through , being competitive on the pitch and selling players at a profit. Our ground didn't seem to be an issue in the Premier League, only our own fans complaining not the media or other clubs.

It seems W12 has an obsession opposing a move, yet he isn't doing a thing to set up any sort of fans group to present his and others' opposition to a move. Time to walk the walk perhaps?
I want to see QPR play at the highest level possible and that means the prem. It also means possibly playing in Europe too. I want to see future generations of fans going to QPR rather than see us die out as a club through lack of interest. As I've said elsewhere, this project isn't about the here and now, it's about the next 50 years and beyond when most of us here will be long gone.
If we don't do it now, be sure someone else like Chelsea will.
I want to go to games where there are no restricted views, and undercover (anyone who's sat in the Paddocks on a wet day will know what I mean). I read somewhere once that 2,000 seats have restricted views at LR. I want us fans to have better facilities than we have at present.
Some just don't understand that we're in the 21st century, not the 1970s and we need better facilities. I would guess some people still play vinyl rather than CDs, watch VHS rather than blu ray, have a black and white TV instead of HD, and have no idea what a smartphone is. Probably still using a brick phone. Frankly, I'm amazed some people can even use a computer to write stuff.
It's called progress, and if you don't progress you get left behind.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
