I can see us going in for him as we are so short up front, kind of a desperation signing but one that oddly makes sense. No doubt he is out there now getting himself fit.

Cole turned down a contract with West Ham at the end of last season cant find a club crawls back to West Ham and then fails the medical, Baird gets let go by Fulham we clearly show an interest but he stalls on signing

They need to be carful what they wish for or they could end up doing a Buzaky i.e. offered a contract in the premier league, turn it down and end up on a month to month contract in Div 1

Totally agree. What worries me is we are in a bit of a desperate situation striker wise should we get just one injury, AJ & Zamora are surely going to break down at some point, so in that sense I can see Redknapp contemplating this should Cole get fit. Can't say I'd be too disappointed as at this level he could be an asset but not ideal scraping around for scraps when we're mounting a promotion push.

The question is could he do a job for us next season - especially if we go up? We all know his limitations and he'd most likely compete with Zamora for most frustrating non-scoring forward. Probably isn't actually what we are looking for in the long-term and just becomes another high-earner with no sale value rotting in the stiffs demanding a large pay off to come off the books.

I read an article, I think it was this time last season, which listed a shed load of players who had been offered contracts by clubs but turned them down and subsequently struggled to find other clubs.

Clubs have easy access to players from the EU, and free agent players in this country are taking a huge gamble with their careers. Players like Cole might end up on much lower wages in a lower league because of their greed. Serves them right really.

Next season is not even an issue. Offer a 1 year deal. He's not exactly in the driving seat for this one. Use him for this season then get shot. Low risk.

1yr deal with option of further year if get promoted. No brainer thought he was a handful at our place last year better then Zamora anyway

I think for what he does CC is a decent enough striker and if the choice was him or Bobby at the current time I would select CC

Big, strong awkward striker, perhaps not the man you want in a one to one situation but put the ball at the far post or crosses in the box for him to come onto and think he will do a job

Depends what the 'lack of fitness' really means? If he were in good enough shape for the championship surely other clubs would have been sniffing around him already?

Perfect acquisition. Free, experienced and a handful at this level. Can't believe what some of our fans expect. We don't need a 30 goal a season striker, all top sides have players all over the park that will score. He would be a great addition and would give us another option if we are struggling to break a side sown

yeah he would bring something different to the team which would be useful at times breaking teams down and stretching defences.

You have to improve your strike force and you have to be crazy not to think the bloke would be a huge improvement on zamora.

Zamora must be looking at a disabled parking bay at harlington at this rate, so hopefully we sign Cole or crouch or someone that is useful and mobile.
