Suppose what I am getting at is even with the players attitudes, the relegation, however bad last season was we still had a QPR we still had a team to support (granted some rightly will have felt disengaged from the club) but we still had the club and for however bleak it was last year the potential is there for it to be at the opposite end of the spectrum this season. Had we gone under be that shut down or a merger as the article suggests were genuine possibilities we would have been no more
I agree. last season was a disaster on the pitch, but under Chris Wright, it was a disaster on and off the pitch. Selling the training round for a pittance & abolishing the very successful youth system the club had, almost destroyed the club. Administration and relegation was the result of that followed by the almost disastrous ABC loan.

I think one disastrous relegation season pales into significance compared to the above.

He was in favour of mergers etc initially with Marler Estates but he saw sense after actually listening to fans

Departing this mortal coil in a jacuzzi, with two birds, a bottle of champers and a bag of marching dust is the stuff of dreams!!!
He was also Chairman some time before Wright... after Jim Gregory and before the Thompsons from whom Wright brought the club. I agree, he could have been a great owner had he lived. QPR finished 5th in his one season in charge and I like to think that he would have gone on to build a bigger stadium or looked into expanding Loftus Road in some way.

Stan, when I said I agreed with marshy's comment ,I meant I agreed that even in administration etc the club still felt like QPR and that I'd never felt so disengaged from the club as last season . Of course I agree with what you and West have written about that all this pales into insignificance compared to us going out of business
I hope I've cleared up any misunderstanding by my comment .
