"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

I see some are still moaning about the inevitable under the current owners. Pointless, but hey ho...roll on if it makes you happy ! ;-)
Football is now business. Big business (though mostly not actually 'good' business it seems). Everyone knows this and stating it almost seems ridiculous at this point, because everyone already knows it. That doesn't fit in with the romantic view the longer term old school supporter has, but again, that's reality. You basically gotta deal with it and adapt, really, otherwise, yup, keep on pointless moaning :D
And Chelsea are a laughing stock? What you mean the recent Champions League winning club with some of the worlds best players playing for them, and one of the worlds best managers. Oh yea, they really are a joke! Oh, wait, its cos they have loads of 'new plastic fans'. That must be it. You mean the loads of new revenue generating fans (hint 'business') , growing year on year worldwide that will eventually probably propel them to sustainability, in a business sense, as one of the major powers of world football. That maybe an exaggeration but it's probably not far off. Yep, they really are a joke!
I totally empathise with how this leads to a lot of detachment, a different kind of 'fan'- and it's not great, it does feel like it kills the romance of the game a little (to me, too) But it's reality boys. And you or I aint gonna change it. We're supporting a club who have owners who have a desire to progress this club in one direction only.Last edited by Snaxo; 11-09-2013, 11:42 PM.

If we get our 40,000 stadium, I would think ticket prices would come down in the short-term in order to fill it. You couldn't have a situation where we pay our normal prices and 25,000 extra people come in every game for a fiver say. This is a broader question for the club to answer at a fans meeting.

There are some incredibly narrow minds on this forum.

What would be the point in spending years getting planning permission, going through all the residents protests, paying a designer, building it - for a 25k stadium which in all honesty we could probably fill today if we were in the Prem, let alone in 5-10 years when its actually built. Even Brentford think they can eventually fill a 25k stadium, we need to aim higher.
There's no point banging on about soulless arenas like Coventry etc. They are empty and soulless because a) their fans make it like that b) not a big enough catchment area for new fans c) Prospective new fans dont want to watch poor quality football, d) no investment in the team (no tv money plays a big part) and e) they ran out of money. 1 day a week of action, 6 days empty stadium. Pointless.
We on the other hand are bang in the middle of London. Completely different story.

So erm, who's gonna build this 25k asset then? You?
