What makes someone over rated? Because if you look at Cesars CV for me how can you call him over rated?

Won Serie A 5 times. Won the champions league. Won the world club cup. Won the copa America. Won the Confed cup. Won serie A goalkeeper of the year twice. Won UEFA goalie of the year once. nearly 100 caps for the Brazil national team.

What has Green got to his name? Promotion with West Ham and a handful of England caps, plus getting nutmegged or whatever it was from 30 yards in a world cup v USA.

Not saying his the best goalie in the world or ever, just asking how is Green better? surely if he was better he would of done the above no? or at least played for some top teams?

As I said earlier though, until he makes a mistake or plays poorly for 2 or 3 games in a row, he can't be dropped.

Overall, Cesar is probably the better keeper due to past achievements etc. But this isn't Football Manager and this isn't the past.

This is the Championship and throughout pre season and now Green has been superb and a big part of our winning start. If Harry was in anyway serious about team spirit and playing people who want to play for us, then it would be absurd to drop him.

Because all Cesar does is palm all shots to the attackers for them to score. Don't know how many times that happened last season!!!! To be fair, our defence was poor and should of got there 1st but still he is so bad at palming long shots away. There is my reason and thats going by last season performances.

He clearly didnt want to leave that much.. he had quite a few chances.

His wages are the issue -

Barton probably had the chance, but again people didnt meet his demands.

Cesar is to pricey for what he is.

Why do you have an issue with him wanting to leave to ensure he is number 1 for Brazil in the biggest tournament in the world being held in his own country? Nothing wrong with that at all. He has nothing against QPR, has not said a bad word about QPR and is by all accounts a top pro.

Sammy - Not entirely what I said..

My point was, Cesar wanted to leave and fair play to him for that.

BUT - If a move didnt come up for various reasons, then I dont think it fairs for him to 'Demand' or be given first team football based on his reputation.

I would stick with Green. He showed his loyalty and is doing very well. Every player make mistakes. Why are we so alert on Green mistakes? Cesar played most of the games last season and made some horrible mistakes as well! There's no place for big names in this QPR squad now. Only for those who cares and wants to play.

Has he really had any chances to leave then? Has he turned down anyone to stay here, has anyone made a concrete bid for him and he said no? All I can think of is silly rumours nd paper talk about Arsenal and Napoli etc, and if any of those clubs wanted him he wouldn't be here now.

Green was available for all of the preseason matches and has played with what is basically a new back four. Cesar was absent for all of the preseason and the beginning of the season. He has played no preseason matches and has not played with the new players. Also Green has played well. Under these circumstances why would you change the goalkeeper. Cesar has not even figured as sub so far this season. First of all he needs to make the subs bench and then take it from there.

Spot on. Cesar has said he is happy to stay and now he has to flight for his spot. Doesn't matter what medals / past achievements he has had Green is playing well, we have conceded very few goals it makes no sense to change the keeper at the moment, whoever is on the bench. I like Cesar and hope to see him playing for us this season but it's time he earned his money and gave Greeno some proper competition.

3 clean sheets on the trot, 2 of which were away from home on difficult grounds.

Form keeps Rob Green in the number 1 shirt for me.

Cesar is entitled to further his career away from LR and it is no secret he has been attempting to do so.
Loyalty and respect also keeps Green is the shirt for me. My opinion, if not anyone else's!

Green's current form shows that he is a decent keeper at this level and I would not drop him (he deserves a bit of loyalty and support), but if his form dips and he starts to make costly errors, then yes, I would select Cesar.

Overall, Cesar is a better keeper and his career achievements back that up, but it may be possible that he may not be better suited for the Championship (a few games in this league will show us).

As for the argument that he didn't finish last season in the team, that was Redknapp's decision as he fully expected Cesar to leave and join Arsenal or some other top club in Europe and wanted to play Green instead.

He didn't take part in pre-season games for the exact same reason.

QPR have two good keepers and that fills me with confidence for the season.
