Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

There's a touch of the Wilshere about him.

he is a talented player, but a bit lightweight.however he should do well in the side because he will have the likes of Barton Henry and Austin around him.

Missed an absolute sitter, but it was the worst of the 7 other absolute sitters we missed. How England never won that game 5, 6 or 7 nil is beyond me. Actually I know why, I backed them 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 & 6-0!!!

yeah he does looks like a short skinny version of Crouch.

Best thing was his willingness to carve out chances for the team - lots of young players think "assist" is a dirty word but he was happy to create for others and do the smart thing in and around the box.

Good example of how difficult it is to score against a ten man defence - England Had about 90% of the possession, a billion passes, scored one goal.
Wont be so extreme but I think that will be one of the themes of games at LR this season.
the 1-0 scoreline wasn't down to the amount of possession or chances created, but down to some poor finishing. I saw Zaha head over from 3 yards, another chance blazed high and wide, the goalscorer go round the keeper only to have the defender kick the ball out of play before he could finish the move. Another late effort was deflected wide and I only watched bits of the 2nd half, so don't really know how many chances England had, but it could easily have been 5 or 6 goals.

Carroll looks like a tricky player, but will probably need to work on his upper body strength in order to be a really great player. He could do a lot worse than have a word with Les Ferdinand and Bale who both did a lot of gym work to be strong enough to hold off challenges.

Watched all the first and a lot of the second. Saw 4 great chances that were fluffed.

But there was a gulf in class, England had all the ball, beating their man at will, passing stats must be off the charts, if they created 24 great chances I would agree with you, but they didn't.

Because breaking down a ten man defence is difficult, for any players at any level of football. Event Barcelona with all their players couldn't break down Inter could they, Wenger is always complaining about opposing teams not playing ball and sitting back, trouble is, that tactic works.

Who will be replaced? Henry? Barton breaking things up & spoiling things whist Carroll zips balls about behind the strikers?

Reckon he'll replace a striker and play in behind or as part of a midfield 3. Then Kranjcar can play on one wing, Hoilett on the other and a striker up top.

Cranjar and Carrol in some capasity together in the centre? We need a creative force in the middle aswell? Phillips is a winger and just that?
Could be that I invented a new formation now, but we have a lot of quality players to chose from now.
