Well, I've heard of The Lurkers, but didn't realise they were local boys ..... until I just Googled them! No, my moniker was chosen, merely because I've been 'lurking' around QPR forums for the past few days, in search of one that looked friendly!

Like I said at the start of my 'mega-post', I'm not a Rangers fan & not of the male persuasion. I've followed Niko's career religiously, since he arrived in England, as a skinny, long-haired 22 year old, back in 2006. There have been good times (the 2008 F.A. Cup win with Portsmouth & his first season at 'Spurs, when he was outstandingly good), but there have also been low points, most of which have come during the past two years. On my own team's forum, I became known as 'Nikopedia', such was my encyclopedic knowledge of matters Kranjčar! He's a very interesting character, who has had to deal with an awful lot of sh*t in the course of his 13 year long professional football career .... and yet, he still remains polite, charming and unaffected, but maybe a little guarded.

@QPR71 Niko often forms part of defensive walls, but I don't think I've ever seen him duck, in the style of Taarabt! Usually, free kick takers realise that to whack a ball into the handsome Kranjčar face would be sacrilege!

Lurker; you're not a Rangers fan as you say. What team do you follow or is NK your only interest? Great posts by the way!

                    Thank you, @12321.

For the record, I'm a 'Spurs fan. And no, my love for them didn't start with Niko's arrival. In fact, he was still in short trousers, when I was watching the likes of Mabbutt, Gazza & Lineker in lilywhite!

Hi, I'm also just visiting here. I am from Croatia and I like to hear what fans say about croatian players as I am emotionally attached to our national team.
I see BrumSpur has already found her way here

                        Anyway,
                        .
I am one of those who are convinced Kranjcar has more talent than Modric, but he is hindered by his lack of physical presence, pace and defending ability.
Anyway when you describe him like that you would think that player with such attributes would have no place in any premiership squad but I dare to say that he single-handedly dragged spurs into champions league.
And to make irony complete, he played as a winger. Now when you put player with no pace what so ever, without athleticism needed to run up and down the pitch on that position and he performs admirably
you just have to admit he has something special about him.
This is the third time Harry brings him in, that speaks volumes.

If he gets match fit, and clear of injuries he will be a great signing for your club. In a way he is a poor man's VDV

                        EDIT:
Let me just clarify why I think he is more talented. If you go back in time when Kranjčar was in highschool just by looking at him play briefly you could say without hesitation this boy will make it big.
And I think what you see in that age is talent. Kranjcar was unlucky with his body as his physical predispositions are not really any good for professional level football but nevertheless the boy made it on talent alone.
He was a captain of Dinamo Zagreb when he was only 17 years old and voted best player of the league.
As for Modric, he was totally obscure in his 'under 21' days.

Today Modric plays for Real madrid and Kranjcar in championship. Its just the way the cookie crumbles, Modric became a modern player with qualities that are rare in midfield players, and Kranjcar seems a relic from some ancient times teams played 3-5-2 with free role playmakers. Its just a profile that is not needed in modern football at high levels.

What he "becomes" isn't too important since he is only on loan. The important thing is what he does for us this season.
