"The interest from Palace was flattering, but I never once asked for a transfer and like I said a few weeks back, I owe it to QPR - who stood by me when I was injured last season - to stay and help get this club back to the Premier League."

That shoudl shut up people who criticized him

It'd be hard for anyone, let along someone aged 32, with his injury record, to turn down a three year contract with a team he spent five years playing for.

Yep. At his age, with his injury record, and with his legendary status at Palace - the prospect of a 3 year deal must have been hard to comprehend...... and even more silly to turn down if things had panned out as Palace had planned.

No hard feelings from me at all - and I hope he goes on to score us shatloads.

What else was he going to say then? Im gutted the move didn't go through, I rushed to my favorite club like a streak of lightening but it wasn't quick enough. Now I've got to go back to that shite west London hovel and pay for them again now for my 30 odd grand a week.

He was there but we didn't get our target, we couldn't sell him and had put the price up.

I like Johnson and if he stays fit he'll score plenty.

Last night they said on SSN, that we were ready to sell and at the last minute we put the price up, which indicates that the player we wanted didn't come in on time.

I think Palace knew that if our deal don't come off, they will not get AJ.

Who knows, but he's said what he said. The point is he never asked for a transfer nor did he invite the situation he found himself him. He was being offered a 3 year deal by a PL club where he's idolised. Bearing in mind his age and injury record I can't see how QPR giving him permission to talk them can be held against him, especially with him realising that we had a preferred striker target lined up to replace him.

He needn't have said anything to be fair to him.
As I said last night, he is a legend at Palace and they are Premier League so we do need to be realistic sometimes.
