What a weird post.

i don't know about you, but I like to find out about players we have signed.

Many of the posters here have very little knowledge of football other than QPR, so I posted this so they could find out a bit more about Ekotto.

Marshy you have an opinion ....not a knowledge of football. As for that article it's been doing the rounds on countless mb's since we announced our interest in him. As usual it's being used as a stick to beat QPR with
yet it was hardly mentioned at the time because he was a Spurs player.
Harry has recruited brilliantly since he's been at QPR, he knows the player, he'll be fine.

There's a few players out there that aren't in love with the game , there just lucky they have a talent for playing pro football, they all realise how lucky they are though.

Don't know about that. I know many who have stole a living from the game for being an athlete and nothing more, yet I've played with many who haven't made it through the system for being slightly to short, not quick enough, too left footed (weak on the right) etc. Don't see Spain suffering with issue like that!

Absolute respect to him for saying what he did. That was the most revealing and intelligent thing I have heard a footballer say in many years. So refreshing to not hear a load of fluffy sound bites and nonsense.... of course it’s for the money but at least he states that the only thing he has is his professionalism. Who here would turn down Real Madrid Man Utd etc if we were playing for QPR?

i read a simliar article last year where he spoke of his personal motivation and shock at the 'lifestyle choices' young english pros make and while i don't know what the op's motives were this has only made me like him more...

"With Harry, it's cool. We don't speak a lot and he doesn't care if I smile or if I know who the next team we play is. If I do my job well, it's OK. He is doing simple things that the previous two managers couldn't even think of. He is straightforward and he doesn't play games."

i couldn't give a toss whether the lad can even spell qpr, it's what he does over 90mins in our shirt that i'll judge him on

The lad does the job he's paid to do and does it to a high standard. What more do you want?
Seriously, how many of us do the job we do out of passion or a love for it. I know I don't, in fact after so many years and so many changes I've come to despise it. However, I'm good at what I do and spent years studying to get to where I am, it pays well and what else would I/could I do that would pay the same? Nada, same as a professional footballer that's not really bothered which teams next up so long as he does his job.
