Agree Connell. He's our top scorer and we only have 2.5 strikers so we need to stay behind him.

No one knows the exact ins and outs of what happened tonight...we may have given him permission to talk to Palace...clubs are no less mercenary than players at times if it's in their best interests to sell.

I am assuming that we had somebody else in mind, and that did not work out, so we pulled the plug on AJ transferring to Palace. If we had signed another striker AJ would possibly have gone down to sub, so under those conditions nobody could blame him for wanting to move to Palace.

Of course he had our blessing to go. Maybe it was hinging on another deal and we pulled the plug when it didn't happen.

I'm sure I heard harry say through the Range window that he didn't want him to go, and is happy it fell through. Can't remember exact words though.

According to Sky we didn't pull the plug, just upped the asking price late on (when I'm guessing our replacement target fell through). Palace then pulled out.

Jim White was saying something along the lines of as long as the intent was logged, you can still get the signing through after the deadline or something like that.

Bit naughty on his part after his recent quotes but as people are saying we don't know the full story. Im pretty sure we we'd have been in for a striker at some point today and like many deals today Aj's was dependant on that being completed.

Not sure why he is taking stick he can only have left the club if we had agreed to sell him. So if we have said we have had an offer we think is acceptable what is he suppsoed to do??? say 'I was out 12months so im staying' even though he may not have been wanted

Never wanted him to leave but would not have died in a ditch had he parted on the basis he was replaced

Bottom line is that today and for the immediate future he is a QPR player so lets just get behind him rather then look for yet another whipping boy
