He loved France and would go there if they want him, he has made no secret off that. But I can't see it happening cos why would they bother doing it on deadline day when he's been near on begging them to take him for months. If they wanted/could afford him I reckon it would of been long done by now.

All well and good but to get my juices flowing need a good, healthy BOOM!!!

I think if Joey was offered a good deal by OM or an ok Premiership side he would stay but from his perspective staying here maybe not the nightmare scenario he might have envisioned it to be a month or two ago. He is now a big fish in a team winning games as opposed to an average player in an average team (albeit division higher) so may be tempted to stay anyway as think that suits his mentality. I was one of those who wanted him gone but to fair he has knuckled down, got on with it and hope he stays.

Why isn't this in the Transfer Deadline Day thread?
        No attention there probably!

Barton is under contract, if we don't want to sell him then he stays.

              Dazzer putting 2+2=5 again!

Marseille don't have the money to pay for Joey or to pay his wages, hence Joey wanting us to pay his contract up so he can sign on reduced terms for Marseille.

There is no value is paying up his contract when we need him here and he's playing well. If someone wants him they'll have to buy him.

Hopefully, Barton will stay. QPR's good start is largely down to having him in the side.

He has played a big part in winning goals against Sheff Weds and Leeds and probably in motivating the players on and off the pitch.

We can all see the difference he makes to the side, especially when compared with last season's lack of desire to graft for wins. I know the playing levels and quality have changed, but this division is more about graft than quality (although he provides a bit of both) and if QPR want to mount a serious promotion bid then they will have to hold Barton to his contract and resist any bids for him (unless stupid big money offers are made).

afaik aside from psg not much money in french football, which explains some of the raids that epl clubs have made on their squads, so not sure how many french clubs could come even remotely close to match his current deal - unless the club subs it like it seems to have done with others - but why do that when barton, unlike the others, is any good and delivering now too. feeling he will stay, but not because nobody wants him.

If we hadn't of got behind Joey, I think we would have left.

I feel he wants to play for us now, things have changed and he looks like he wants to be here.

Things will also look down this season as well, we'll need a player like him to lift the rest of the players up.

I think Joey has a major step to play this year.

I'm feeling very confident that he will remain here, the only way he will leave is if the club ask him to leave to help reduce the wages. I could be very wrong?

Which is the simple and most likely answer....still that's not going to get you any attention if you say that.

Don't give a **** whether he stays or goes. He's only here because he wasn't good enough for Marseille. The bottom line is, no sane club will be willing to pay him what we do, and that's why he is here.
