  • Just hoping we get a CB in from somewhere. Would be great if we could swap Cesar for Dawson at WBA.

Most of the names being mentioned on here are simply players certain fans quite like, not who the club are necessarily pursuing as far as I can make out.
same here, I like some players mentioned and I got no inside info but not expecting mind blowing - couple loans maybe then some out of contract players after the window like baird
might be surprised but more likely mostly the same as the window so far, quiet and low budget, as far as incomings are concerned anyway.

      • So if we are hell bent on getting a good young striker and we have to pay a bit over the top lets do it, we have re cooped loads of money in wages fro 16 departures so lets show we mean business and chuck in a bid for rhodes at £12-15m, if his one for the future the price will only go up when he bangs in 30 goals this season

could be a quiet one unless we rustle up a forward from somewhere.
Striker might also be a loan. Only Champ striker who would probably really improve us (and wd potentially make the step up to the prem if we were promoted) is Rhodes and as we all know he isn't going to come. So maybe Harry's waiting to see which good young striker is surplus to requirements for now with the big boys once dust has settled on deadline day.

Are you offering to write the cheque or are you expecting the board too...?

Baird is a free agent so can move anytime as well.

We'd be better off waiting and getting a good loan striker on loan than a panic buy today.

In some ways it will probably be better for us to have a quiet deadline day.

                • Have to agree that it will be quiet for us. Baird is going to be our only defensive signing and thats why harry want's to know now whether he will sign because if he doesn't then we need to look elsewhere by tonight which doesn't give us much time. I think Baird will sign tonight and we go for Kane for loan in next few days

                  • listening to Barry Silkman ex QPR now agent, on Talksport with Neil Warnock, he reckons most deals will be loans. Interesting snippet about O'Neal, he refused a one year contract at the Hammers because he thought he deserved more money, ended up out of work for a spell until we got hold of him. We are paying him less than what West Ham offered. Silkman said ''some players need a reality check, as there is'nt the amount of money they think there is out there''

                      • Wow this deadline day has been boring. Think we have been spoilt in the last four windows. still think we will announce two players before 11 however

Well we were spoilt in terms of the theatre on the day but over a season? We wasted a hell of a lot of money on not a lot. When I hear some fans (not you) saying things like "the board needs to show its serious" I just think back to all the multi-million pound players we bought over the last couple of years and now can't give away. Sure, like the next fan I wd get really excited if we suddenly signed some big name out of the blue but its not always the best way to run a business.

I think this has been our most successful window for a long time.

I think most our dough went on salaries more then transfer fees. Think if we compared what Norwich and Swansea spent on fees during the time we were up and what the three that have come up this season have reckon we would be towards the bottom of money spent on actual transfers

Agree mate brought in solid no risk players. Followed similar principles as previous windows of signing frees etc just getting the characters right this time
