I would fear if we got rid of Hoillet to get Dofoe that we have cut our nose off to spite our face as for Defoe to be success he needs someone to feed him and at the current time the most likely person to do that would be Hoillet. As soon as he came on today we immediately looked more potent and more of a threat so in my book if we got Defoe we need him as well as Hoillet not one to replace the other

But as said we wont even in my view get the chance to offer him a big wage as if Spurs put out there that he is available he will go to a prem side. Only chance I can see of snaring him would be if hes not in the 25 and he comes on loan

no loss really if traore goes, cesar has qualities but i think green deserves the shirt so that is a lot of dough on the bench, but I would be in no hurry to lose AJ/JH and Barton especially.

fair point. I still prefer Remy - but Defoe would score plenty in this league. but that is about football. there is the business side to consider ie whether the club has allocated the funds to get him and if he would come and all that.

AVB said on Friday that Defoe was going nowhere but then he bought another two or three players in so I expect Defoe will join us on loan with a clause for Spuds to have him back if needed due to injuries.

Can't see Defoe starting premiership games and he may not be happy with just Europa league games, same could be said of Townsend
