2 wins from first 3 games and according to the pundits Stoke are playing attractive football completely different to them playing under Pulis. Just shows what a manager can do when he doesnt have an interfering Chairman "recommending" players left right and centre and is allowed to get on with the job he is paid to do. Still early days so lets see how he does by the end of the season.

He's not terrible but he aint that good. He and only he f..ked up here. People can blame the board and owner but Hughes wanted the s..te he brought in, Hughes is the football man not the board, Hughes choose the team and tactics.
No one made Hughes do anything and people to believe otherwise are silly people indeed.
TF and co. agreed the deals but they were driven by what Hughes wanted. If the board did not back Hughes then a certain few would whinge that the board interfere too much!
We really do have a f..ked up fan base.

Pretty ridiculous thread to try and support your anti-Fernandes agenda Vblock ;)
I read an interview with Hughes where he pretty much commented that his mistake @ QPR was, with best intentions, trying to involve himself in too many aspects of the clubs rebuilding at once, thus diluting his focus on the first team. He admitted straight out that he didn't take the time to get as close to the players as he needed to.
Having said all that, I agree that he's probably not as bad a manager as he appeared to be @ QPR and I have some respect for him that he appears to have owned up to his mistakes and learnt some lessons. Just a shame that it had to be our club providing him with the learning experience !
