I read an interview with Hughes where he pretty much commented that his mistake @ QPR was, with best intentions, trying to involve himself in too many aspects of the clubs rebuilding at once, thus diluting his focus on the first team. He admitted straight out that he didn't take the time to get as close to the players as he needed to.

Having said all that, I agree that he's probably not as bad a manager as he appeared to be @ QPR and I have some respect for him that he appears to have owned up to his mistakes and learnt some lessons. Just a shame that it had to be our club providing him with the learning experience !
Nail on the head. He's not a bad manager, he just wasn't the right manager for us.

Not bigging him up mate just expressing an opinion that Hughes isnt the "anti Christ" as he is made out to be by some people and that the debacle of last season isnt entirely his fault. However if you want to believe that it was and the assembled squad were all chosen by him then thats up to you. I value your opinion. Anyhow its nice to see Fernandes far more in the background this transfer window so maybe they both learned from mistakes made.

In fact i think i feel the need to get around to changing my avatar as Fernandes is seemingly keeping a low profile this season (Championship obviously not global enough) and looks like its going to be a good one under Harry.

VBlock, what the **** is the matter with you ??!!

We are top of the league. Who gives a ****. Honest. Who apart from you ?

Let's forget Hughes, Tarrabt, Bothroyd, Remy, Mackie and any of the other ****s who have past links with us...

....and JUST ENJOY the incredible, amazing, *ullshi* free, not 'meticulous' prepared start we are having...

          Rant over.

You are fully entitled to your opinion V, it's just that Hughes himself admits he was given a job that was too much for him because he had so much responsibility for the football side. For me it proves that TF let him get on with the job and therefore the ultimate responsibility for our demise lays with Hughes.

TF made it clear enough in several interviews that Hughes had full control of the football side. Hughes had never denied that.

I really hope one day you will see that TF isn't the demon you think he is.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I don't think we'll ever know what happened behind the scenes, obviously many mistakes were made, I just moved on and I hope everyone with QPR has learned something from them! I could care less what Hughes and Stoke are doing, not my concern, I just don't want them raiding any of our players!

                    Exactly.

(And besides, nothing he does between now and when he dies will convince me that he is anything other than a girlie-haired twunt.)

He has beaten Palace at home and nicked a 1-0 at West Ham, 2 sides who were recently promoted. It will go wrong for Stoke and Hughes soon.

You can't compare his time here and where he is now anyway. He runs a different team with different owners and players. He also has a set of fans there who have watched absolute **** for years so any kind of different football to them will look amazing!

You can't seriously be saying we should be judging Hughes after 3 games, are you?

At the end of the day, Hughes is an average manager. He isn't a good manager. Was he as bad as we did under him? No. Is he a good manager? No. Stop seeing the world in black and white.
