U18S TWITTER TAKEOVER: The boys are ready & waiting to answer your questions!
Answering your questions tonight will be #QPR U18s trio @officialCole6 (CK) @DarnellFurlong (DF) @harlywise (HW).
What's it like to know that you are the next generation for #QPR and likely to play for the club in the future?
ALL: It's nice to know we've got the opportunity but we've got to keep our feet on the ground and take every day as it comes.
How did you first get into the academy?
CK: I was scouted by QPR and came on a trial when I was 7-8 years old. Luckily the trial went well!
DF: There was a trial game for the Under-11s for all Sunday League sides and I got picked up from there.
HW: I haven't played anywhere else! I've been at #QPR since Gary Waddock picked me as a 7-year-old.
What's the best advice your dad has given you?
DF: To be humble and not take the opportunity for granted.
For a young player wanting to be pro what do you think you need to make it?
ALL: Hard work, commitment, good attitude and be prepared to take sacrifices and miss out on certain things. And to enjoy it!
Thoughts on the standard of American players you've played so far?
ALL: Strong, fit and very humble as well as being good on the ball. They have a good attitude and desire to do well.
Does everyone have the same haircut? Admittedly, I too am guilty of the hair style.
ALL: There's a few characters and a few crazy barnets! But it's not all about that - there's a lot more important things!
What is the funniest moment that has happened so far on the New York Tour?
ALL: Richard Allen (Head of Academy) sprinting across the pitch in the rain at Wednesday's game!
Who do you look up to in the first team? And you believe is your role model?
HW: Clint Hill DF: Clint Hill CK: Karl Henry.
Does the introduction of @hitchuuu & Mo Sharrif to the first team give you an added boost for the future?
ALL: It motivates us a lot and gives us a lot of confidence. We're really happy for both of them.
What's it like working with Steve Gallen?
ALL: We learn a lot from Steve, especially as defenders. We learn something new in every session!
Who, according to you is the player with the most commitment today? (outside of QPR will also do)
CK: Nemanja Vidic HW: Seamus Coleman DF: Michael Dawson
Who from the first team has the best banter and why?
ALL: Can't say for the first team but in the academy? Our goalkeeping coach @DMTKeepers - he'll be buzzing we've said that!
What's all your predictions for Saturday's away game against Leeds?
ALL: A 2-0 away win!
U18S USA TWITTER TAKEOVER: Sadly that's all the boys have time for. Thanks for all your questions!
