Do fans not help finance the club by buying merchandise? I know a lot of people who dont go yet buy the shirts, etc

Are you telling us that you "finance the club" now?

True, but then anyone who buys club merchandise, subscribes to matchday programmes or QPR Player is helping to fund the club. Not forgetting those who subscribe to Sky Sports who then pay money to clubs to show their games. So that would make many of us supporters, whether we attend games or not.

I was there on Tuesday and it was a sh1te performance, but I really could not care when they scored or that the team lost because I was fully resigned to it after about 15 mins watching (havings seen that kind of cup tie performance many times over recent seasons i.e. Colchester, Cardiff (when they were 3rd or 4th tier with Brazier scoring for them), a factory works team, Accrington Stanley, Port Vale, Bury etc).

and as for the poster's dig at Armchair fans, many fans can no longer attend games for a variety of reasons including distance, health, family, finances or work that does not mean they are no longer 'proper' fans or supporters of the club or that they do not feel elated or depressed at wins and losses.

Quite frankly, I cannot stand fans who put other fans down just because they don't attend games anymore.
Very well said - you could also condense it to "Quite frankly, I cannot stand fans who put other fans down".

A mate of mine moved down to the far South a few years back, we used to go home and away together before that, week in, week out. Since he moved he still comes to a fair chunk of away games and makes it up to LR for about half the home games. He can't do evening kick offs of which there are plenty but hey - he still keeps his season ticket because he wants to sit with us when he's there despite the cost consequences of missing plenty. So he sees more games than a lot of people and holds a ticket but doesn't go to a Tuesday night game because of the distance - he will listen to that game on the radio - fan or supporter. I know it doesn't matter either way, he is Rangers, just like my old man who hasn't been to a game now for maybe 10 years because of his age/health..........and as Rangers they deserve the same treatment as anyone else.

More than you and for far longer than you.

Many happy memories of being present in the room whilst Michael Wale was interviewing Gordon Jago after matches. If you aren't sure who they are, feel free to ask.
