The Attendance's are Rubbish, the team uninterested. Whilst it is important to rest the squad in the championship. These are Professional footballers supposedly the Gladiators of the Game. at the peak of fitness. Its not like they are Playing 5 sets of tennis every other day like tennis Players or have 5 sacks of Sh1t being beaten out of them week in week out like rugby players. I think it is a Malaise that has spread over the club that we don' t do cups!

make the games Free or nominal payments get a crowd in there..play a full strength side and who knows we may make a cup run.

and that cup run playing knock out football may stand us in good stead for the experience of playing play off football. which could be highly likely this season.
    interesting point of view...

you suggest knackering the players in cup games to prepare for the play offs.
you realise the average pro footballer will expend the same energy as a marathon runner during a match.
ever tried running 2 to 3 fast marathons a week for 9 months whilst being kicked and having your shirt pulled.
try some of those marathons going from sprint to walking pace, like circuit training

    got to prioritise

.? On average a footballer runs 4-5 miles in a match.

I seem to remember Kevin Keegan being feted for his work rate because he ran an average of 9 miles per match. A match only lasts for 90 minutes and a world class marathoner, running at top speed, still needs over 2 hours to finish the course! Of course footballers don't average anywhere close to that speed during the course of a match.

Agree with the point that you are trying to make.........I don't for a second believe that a professional football exerts the same energy in 90 minutes as an athlete would running a marathon. Where have you got that one from? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever!

Personally, I glad we've exited the cup & when I saw that Notts Forest had gone through, well I smiled because now they have at least one extra game to play.

I dont think many of you are getting the drift of the thread it's not that we got beat! its if they are not going to take it seriously then dont take the **** in charging. our approach to ths competiotion is/has been abysmal over the few years, I agree would rather win at leeds and people need resting but if we're going to put out a sub standard team and not take it seriosly then dont charge or just include the first 2 cup games in the S.T. this would also swell the gate and create more of an atmosphere. I go to all games, but wont be attending any more L.Cup games in the first 2 rounds.
What even if we get Millwall, Charlton, Brentford etc?

come Tony do the right thing?
Either take it seriously or just give us L.Cup game free
I wont be going to any more League cup games until we start taking it seriously, the club are just taking the P*SS
Hopefully today's result has made you put your toys back in your pram and realise how stupid this post was.
