If you base the squad on 25, we need 9-9-4. Three keepers, two RBs, two LBs, five CBs, two RMs, two LMs, five CMs, four strikers.

We have Ned, Dunne and Hill at CB. We have Yun as second choice LB and Simpson as first choice RB. I'd move Traore to LM as cover for Hoilett. We've got Phillips and O'Neil on the right, and in the middle we've got Barton, Henry, Jenas, Faurlin, and Diakite. We may or may not change some of these. SWP may be surplus to requirements. Up front just AJ, BZ and Austin.

If we add a first choice LB, a second choice RB, two CBs, and a striker, we'd have a much better balanced squad.
Good shout, two more strikers after tonight tho and one CB, can't see BZ being a force anymore. Diakite is still a liability for me with his tackling of old. Don't want to see Hill playing every week really.

Hopefully we get Baird as can play anywhere across the back 4.
He is just being a b*tch with his wage demands!!

I wouldn't like us to continue this long season with just four CBs, given Hill's age and Dunne's injury record.

Chris Baird would solve this problem instantly and would provide cover for RB if needed.

CB's are a worry. If HR thinks Dunne and Hill can go through the whole season then we're f..ked! This game aside, defeats happen; we are seriously lacking in a few areas and I hope and pray HR has something up his sleeve.

He can play anywhere across the back 4, knows he is needed which is why he is trying to get a better offer!!

He might, but I still maintain we're well short on defenders. I believe we need nine of them, and we've got five, six if you count Traore. I haven't counted Harriman and Ehmer because I think they should be brought on slowly in a strong squad.

Imagine if we lose Ned for any length of time? We've had it.

Major worry. I doubt Baird is the answer but it'll be a start.

We weren't the best side in the Division after Saturday. I am neither a pessimist nor an optimist, I am a realist, and the reality is that we might be the best team in the league player for player, but as a team, we're not even top four, and that is unacceptable. Serious work therefore needs to be undertaken in getting this squad into a better team, whether that means more players added or not, I don't know, but if we don't take serious action now, I can easily see another season of disappointment.

But can you eat a jam doughnut without licking your lips?

I think some people need to calm down.

This isn't the finished QPR side you know, we know that 2/3 players will be added to the side with a couple more leaving so lets and see what happens Monday before judging.

QPR fans just focus on the negatives. All the time
Totally agree. I said before the season start that the clear out would take 2 season, but it seems to have taken much less which is great. Having said that, I still think we will not go up but may end up in the play offs at best or somewhere between 7th-10th. It's not easy when you go down when there are some good settled sides like Nottingham Forest, Watford, Leicester and Brighton although on paper our squad looks stronger.

                              But we're the bookies favourites!
We have the best squad on paper!
Why then should we be settling for 7-10th?
We're paying Harry to get us up this season, if he can't do it, then he needs to walk right now.

He can and will do it of we don't lose any of our starting eleven (bar hill) and adds two or three more. IMO.
