  • Which next Spurs player can we turn into a legend

Thanks to the R's we have turned Kyle Walker into a England regular and there has been a few calls from Spurs fans for England to call up Townsend. This is all down to Qpr and wouldn't be surprised Spurs want to loan most of their youngsters to us.
Spurs fans dont seem to be worrying to much about losing Bale anymore with the quality Townsend has to offer!!!

Although i was insulted when Kyle Walker said he owes his career to Aston Villa, especially when Villa only wanted him when they saw how great he was for us.

Anyway the question is, who is next for Spurs to loan out?

Tom Carrol or Harry Kane! We want another striker, would take him on loan!

Tom Carroll you feel, we have got a record going on
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

The OP seems happy that we are turning Spurs players into England players. Personally, it burns me up. Are we Tottenham Hotspur Reserves? This liberal load market is precisely what allows the top clubs to hoard all the talent. Townsend got better going out on loan. What if that had not been an option and he had to kick his heels playing in the reserves? He could have stuck around and never got any better or moved, and most players would choose to move. Then if Spurs want him back because he has improved, they can effing well pony up!

I kinda agree but at this time in moment we are like spurs reserves. Until we are established premier lge team then thats not a bad thing. Kyle Walker helped us get promoted and Towsend helped us not get relegated with 10 games to go!!! Its good for them and us is the short term. Hopefully in a few years we can return the favour when we are in champs lge and spurs are struggling. They can be Qpr reserves!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that we have to play the game otherwise we will be at a disadvantage. It is the rules of the game that bother me. But so long as the rules are making the rich richer and nobody cares, they won't change and the rich will keep getting richer.

Stupid post, what should we do with the youngsters we have out on loan right now then?

Right back at you on the "stupid post"!

We would develop them through our youth system and if they make the team, great, if not, we release them to sign for a lower league team. And if that team develops them to the point where we want them back, WE will have to pony up!

There, that wasn't too hard to understand, was it?

Perhaps you prefer the status quo, which ensures that teams below us develop our players and that we develop players for teams ahead of us. If so, fair enough, but it doesn't work for me.

There is no substitute for first team football when it comes to match fitness and experience. Without the loan system there would be an awful lot of half fit and inexperienced pros out there. Add to that the fact that a lot of lower league clubs only survive because of it and there's a couple of very sound pluses for the loan system.

99% of young players go out on loan (even someone like David Beckham!), they have potential but aren't ready for their parent clubs first team. The receiving club generally will pay the players wages/large proportion of it/loan fee. If they do well, it benefits both clubs. The system in place works and wont be changed, not sure why its of anyone's concern if it doesnt work for you.

It benefits the big clubs the most, that is my point! If the loan option were not there, they would have to release some of these players who would then be contracted to smaller clubs instead of being there on loan. If the player then improves substantially, those smaller clubs would then benefit much more than they do today.

Smaller clubs probably wouldnt be able to afford to buy these players, thats the problem. The players themselves may also not want to move permanently to the smaller clubs.

The players would have a choice: stick with the bigger club and play every week for the reserves in front of three men and a dog, or do not renew your contract with the bigger club and move to a smaller team, in Townsend's case from Spurs to QPR, and play in front of thousands of people in the Football League. I think that most players would choose to move, and if they don't, that just opens up opportunities for other players (opportunities that are taken away when somebody comes in on loan). The cost to the smaller clubs would not be a factor as most of the moves would be when the player's contract ends or is terminated by mutual consent.

I'm not sure how many of them are actually English. Ok Mo Sharif and Tom Hitchcock are. Frankie Sutherland plays for the Republic of Ireland and Peter Skepetis for Australia.
